Thanks for that, I will take a look at it.

The default was set to 64bit WEP, so I am currently using my old D-Link router.

O2 broadband activated today, instant speed increase compared with previous supplier - Madasafish.

Did you join on the home access £17.50 or was your exchange ready for superfast broadband.
I joined on the home access and had a better speed than madasafish. O2 very kindly has given a refund of £10 each month until my exchange is ready.
I have been told though I could be stuck on it for a month or 2.
Has anybody joined o2 on this package before exchange was ready and been switched over successfully to superfast broadband without problems.

I joined on the £7.50 a month package as I am an O2 PAYG customer.
  • I joined O2 approx 2 weeks ago, My line speed went from 2.1 to 5.8 mbps.

I paid BT £19.99 per month now pay O2 £12.50 for an 8Mb package.

Only 1 fault I can't get Mcafee to registar for updates, Have contacted O2, They are fully aware of problem and trying to sort it out.

This seems to be a general problem, same here, as well as the update problem Mcafee completely blocked my internet access.
I've gone back to using Avast AV with Windows firewall & my good old (ex aol) netgear router :)

I had a problem with mcafee from o2 initially too, not sure if this is similaur to your problem but what happened with me was that it would install ok but then about 5 days later it would warn that it was out of date and wouldn`t update itself.

O2 told me this was because i had previously had or used a trial of a mcafee product installed on my machine, so i needed to run the specialist removal tool available from the mcafee website before reinstalling it.

O2 broadband though seams to be good i`d recommend it especially for the price.
  • I am thinking of moving from Waitrose (which is excellent) to O2 because it is so much cheaper, but what I would like to know is if the connection is instantly on when you switch on the computer or do you need to sign in like AOL and Talk Talk. Help please.
