O2 Broadband (merged)

Hi,You need to top it up by at least £10 every 3 months to keep getting the £5 off the broadband every month.
thinking of switching to O2 for mobile and BB, to get the £7.50 deal, though a
bit confused,
5.2 The details of the minimum top-up requirements are:
The O2 Pay & Go mobile used to qualify for the discounted Home Broadband is topped-up by a total at least £10 in the three month period prior to each month’s Home Broadband top-up date (this will always be 3 days before your broadband bill date). This means that if you are due to receive your Home Broadband bill on 4th of each month, then you must make sure your Pay & Go mobile is topped up a total of at least £10 in the three months prior to the 1st of each month (your Home Broadband Top Up Date)
does this mean that I would need to top up in month 1 to qualify for month
4, and then month 2 to qualify for month 5, so I would be topping up every
month, as I don't use my mobile a lot, mainly texts, if I was to top up £10
every month I would end up with a large credit, though you say top up £10
every 3 months to qualify?
Thanks.0 -
It does look confusing.
This is what they say in their sales pitch:you need to keep your O2 Pay & Go mobile active (i.e. able to make and receive calls) and satisfy a minimum top-up requirement of £10 every 3 months to keep the discount after your first month of O2 Broadband.
Which does seem to read as that after month 1, then you need to top up at least once every 3 months.
The best answer may be to give them a ring and get it explained from the horses mouth - they always seem very helpful.0 -
Hi,
yes, that's where I'm getting confused, I would be using the O2 mobile, but
I'm a light user, topping up £10 every 3 months would probably be plenty for
me, will give them a ring in the morning.
I'm about ready to top up my Tesco mobile now, so thought of changing, plus
free BB conection finishes at the end of the month.0 -
After being without phone or broadband for nearly a year after Bulldog cutting us off I decided to bite the bullet and get BT installed, managed to get it for the reduced rate of £30 and was up and running on Monday.
Phoned O2 on Tuesday and have had loads of texts, my direct debit is setup, my wireless box is being delivered 2moro and line will be activated on Monday. The customer service is top notch, am going with the basic to start with at £7.50 pm and they will do tests on my line to find out if I can get the higher speeds and keep me informed.
Its so good dealing with people that speak English and know what they are talking about, can'twait to get up and running on Monday and see what the speed is like, heard nothing but great reviews !0 -
still waiting for my text from o2 to activate my bb, its supposed to be switching today (fri 20th) i phoned cust service yesterday to confirm it was switching over today as they say four days prior to switch ing they take 1st payment which they haven't, the guy says it will be switching over, and i dont have to wait for the the text just to try it
did that it dont work, will my aol switch off 1st or will it only switch off once i try to set up o2
i had to laugh though everyone is pleased that cust service is uk based but the guy i spoke to had a foreign accent who obviously lives in the uk, but glad to say there was no language barrier:T0 -
the AOL connection will stop working as they switch you on to the O2 equipment. Is a manual job so depends when the engineer gets round to doing it. Wander down there and knock on the door and ask them to get a move on0

Have you had your box delivered yet? Mine came today so just crossing fingers all goes as plan on Monday. Let us know how you get on, good luck !0 -

When you say you kept all the same settings presumably you had to manually change the network name ssid and the security from WEP to WPA or were you able to do this during the set up with the cd?
If manually how did you do it?
I hope to do the same when I get O2 on Friday 27th so any help would be appreciated;) .Regards
