Or alternatively, don't use it,and get AVG free off t'internet instead.
I have done exactly that.I've been using AVG for about 18 months now,and have even installed it on my parents laptops, and they like it as well.
Ken.That's my mutt in the picture above.0 -
I've gone live with O2 today and got speeds of just over 16 meg this afternoon with 1 PC connected and just over 12 meg with 3 connected including 1 by wireless just now.0

Amazed at this result! I'm on their standard 8meg package.
Have to say that overall O2 are THE best ISP I have ever been with. I've been with them around 4 months now and their whole service package has been 100%.
Well done O2!!

Thank you for that. However, I tried it, but I couldnt find the "mcoemmgr.exe" file to delete, and couldnt find "C:\Program Files\McAfee\MSC\mcregist.exe " eitherI had the same problem... it's due to a problem with the installation or the previous installation of Mcafee.
Have a look at the on the Mcafee website and there is an uninstall tool that you need to run after you have unistalled MCafee in the normal way.
Once I did this it worked fine.
Hope that helps.

i had this problem with mcafee too, i think its caused if you had mcafee previously on your pc prior to getting it free with o2.
when you install the o2 version it works for about a week, then complains about not being registered for updates.
mcaffe do a special removal tool mcpr.exe
http://service.mcafee.com/FAQSearch.aspx?lc=1033&sg=TS&pt=1
click the 3rd link down in the FAQ.
you need to do that then reboot, then reinstall the o2 stuff.
on my 1st attempt i had the same problem the following week but i did it again and that time it worked.0 -
I was able to specify a desired activation date last time I switched ISPs. It was such a blessing being able to use my old connection right up to the last day it was paid for and getting connected with the new provider then. No worrying about unused days, no having to claim refunds.
I had a look at O2 Broadband's order form on their website but could not see an option to set your own activation date in the first page or two (I stopped at the point where you have to enter your details to proceed any further). Does that option appear further down the signup process in the shape of a text box to enter the activation date you'd like or something of that sort?
TIA.The true cost of something is what you give up to get it.0 -

I believe you can respond to a text message later on in the process and change the activation date - someone else who did so should probably confirm, though.
Personally I was doubling in speed, so very happy to have a few unused days from the previous supplier!Says James, in my opinion, there's nothing in this world

I dont think you can change the date, i know my activation date date was in mid month of my old aol billling cycle and it cleary states on aol you cant claim a refund i just thought was a small price to pay to move provider0

The O2 router is an old, rebranded thomson - you can boost O2 speeds by using a netgear dg834 (standard, N, G, or GT)
Actually the O2 router, a Speedtouch 780WL is growing on me every day. It actually works rather well (at least if you get them to give a later firmware 6.2.27.2) in fact faster than my netgear dg834GT (with all firmwares tried).
It looks basic, but is actually a prettt powerful box. The ability to use it as a VoIP gateway is fantastic, with superb audio quality, and no delay/echos etc. What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0
