  • i am with o2 as well. Been with them a month after buying my Dell inspiron 6400 laptop and got the wireless box as well. although the wireless does not work that well near me I started on a monthly payment of £12.50 but they sent me an email to say because I was a pay as you go customer on mobile they reduced it to £7.50. It never goes down and the load up is very fast.

I probably shouldn;t be shouting about it, as in the end the more people with O2 will slow down my speeds, however, O2 is fantastic!!!!!

The only issue I had was the courrier they used, sounds like they use anything they can, taxi, bus, lorry?

I bought the broadband last month and keeping track of it was awsome. For £7.50 a month (no hidden costs, no crap like "12.99 thereafter" I'm having download speeds of between 2.5mb and 8mb... This is awsome, unimited broadband..

Also got £25 moneyback from Quidco, BARGAIN!

Contrary to the comments made in post #243 - Phone O2 I was told by an O2 technical bod the other day that offering you free broadband is one of the options available to their retentions people

I think you must be absolutely right as recently nabbed freebie broadband for hubby on an 8mb unlimited downloads on £35 per month existing tarriff along with 600mins plus 2000mins long weekends and as an added bonus this w960i sony ericsson for free (I'll keep) on 18m tarriff again! Best bit is that he used virtually all of the last 18 months minutes calling abroad for free on O2 x-net mins on international numbers to India/Russia/Pakistan/Dubai/Canada (now kinda ceased - wink, wink! )

Superb - gonna set it up today as router arrived within 2-3 days and no time :o - on vodafone wireless card at present so big deifference!

Our O2 BB was connected yesterday and we are getting over double the speeds we were getting with tiscali

    Now: 244827298.png

    Before:238725019.png

though it has kept cutting out on me this morning:mad:
  • We're not getting as fast a speed as we were when we first changed over a few weeks ago. We were getting 13, 14, 15mB (had only ordered the 8mB line)

Think they have capped it since the weekend because we're now in the high 7's all the time. Still fab though :D

    That is intentional.

During the first 7 to 10 days they are continually testing your line to establish the optimum speed for it.

This does involve regular disconnects and re-connects.

    Hi

This is my first time on here but I wanted to share a great deal I just got with O2 broadband.

EXISTING O2 customers may be able to get FREE broadband. I rang up asking about my contract mobile, which I am already on half price line rental for and also what BB deals they offered.

    They offered the following:

    FREE upto 8mb unlimited
    £2.50 upto 16mb unlimited
    £5.00 upto 20mb unlimited

Amazingly this is not tied in with keeping my phone either.

I am was on Be There upto 24mb, Be is part of O2 anyway and was amazed to be offered such a good deal. I did mention I was thinking of leaving O2 mobile but as I am in contract for another 6 weeks, that wasn't an option, though I will be back on the phone about that in April.

I now have 4 services for under £30

Landline - BT £10.50 line rental
    Calls through 1899 and 18185
    Broadband - 16mb unlimited downloads - O2 - £2.50
Mobile - £8.50 inc 300 free texts and 100 evening minutes
    TV - freeview

Thanks to MSE I am saving in other areas too but won't bore you with them.

    I hope this helps someone.

    Regards
    AJ

Can you use your own router with O2 broadband or do they force you to use theirs?
