    Can I scream? The plumber has my bathroom in bits because there's a major blockage in the system and he can't do anything until he gets hold of a joiner and another "rod man". Even at that he's not sure what to do without flooding the hall underneath. I've been telling the local authority for years that there was something wrong with the plumbing but would they believe a mere woman? Now there's some bizarre message coming up on my television and I can't get rid of it. All this in addition to the hammering outside. On second thoughts I think I'll have a drink.

    I you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
    If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too;
    If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
    Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
    And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream - and not make dreams
    your master;
    If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
    If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
    And treat those two impostors just the same;
    If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
    Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
    And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
    If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
    And lose, and start again at your beginnings
    And never breathe a word about your loss;
    If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
    And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"
    If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
    If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
    If all men count with you, but none too much;
    If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
    Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
    And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

    Sorry the poem -If - just popped into my head:rotfl:

    Mothernerd - putting me to shame with your bargains, the charity shops here are rubbish.

    I returned a dress yesterday but ended up buying a top and a bag instead, still am fiver ahead. so SFD counted.

    Today - had to buy a cake - friends birthday and got some birthday cards , stocked up card outlet so not a big spend.

    Toni's friend - hope you get it sorted. Must be a way without flooding everywhere. Note of caution just shopping around for home insurance found one I liked and then hidden in small print 650 excess for water damage. Have to look another day when got more time.

    Have a lovely weekend folks xx

    Morning all,

    Super busy at the moment with exam marking. I have no idea of SFDs except I think I was last on 7/8, maybe, and I've definitely had two more this week.

    Toni's friend i can empathise, I've currently got both neighbours doing renovations (one of whom removed the garden fence and didn't replace it so my dogs could escape), the council are redoing the pavements and a gas company has dug up the street and blocked my driveway with a giant hole for the last week and a half.

    Thanks, everyone. Three plumbers and two men from a specialist drain company later and the blockage has gone without any water damage. A huge thanks to the drain men. The bathroom is still in bits as it was too late to get a joiner out to put it back together but I can live with that. I think the problem is that, when the council installed new bathrooms some time ago, the contractor they employed was not very good. My neighbour is having a new bathroom installed herself at the moment (she bought her council house) and her plumber has had to replace all the pipes because they were like "spaghetti junction". I could well believe it,
    Anyway, nearly back to normal.
    Have a good weekend,
    Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

    Forgot to post yesterday, managed a NSD. Went to babysit my niece after work so I didn't fit in any exercise as I didn't have time. I had a lie in this morning as I have a really bad headache :mad: Not sure where it's come from. Have taken some paracetamol and am sitting in bed feeling frustrated, haven't got any major plans for today other than cleaning, exercise and some DIY prep. I'll be annoyed if I can't get it done but I don't want to make it worse, i've always been prone to headaches my whole life so just have to do what I need to make it better. Got a busy day tomorrow so need to try and get rid of it before then.

    Hi guys
    Well I've make it to the weekend in one piece.
    It's been quite a stressful week, but after two visits to a local factory (one to ill in loads of paperwork and one for induction I was told that I have a job I have to go in on Monday to get my boots and hopefully get my hours. So this is good.
    I have been organised and made a list of what needs paying off and getting as I get paid.
    On the down? side I have gone over my £120 budget for food, but as we have just moved to a new flat. The freezer is 3/4 full, as is the tin cupboard and we have a gigantic bottle of washing liquid. The 3 litre was only 90p more than the one litre.
    OH will be taking over kitchen duties more and if I let him near the shops it costs a fortune so I need to be stocked up and with a plan.
    Anyway that's me for today.
    Look after yourself guys
    Cuddles

    Was planning a NSD today but unexpected trip to A&E with DH after a diving accident. I may be here some time and I'm ravenous. I have water, but I'm going to have to hunt.
