AO dumped washing machine in middle of kitchen

Yes, I do expect decent companies to go the extra mile for disabled and vulnerable people and not leave them at risk from fire because they can't shut their kitchen doors. I'm sure that sounds outrageous to you though.
So why not go through somebody like John Lewis, who do as a matter of course offer exceptional customer service.
Oh wait no, you would have had to pay more.0 -

It's not prejudice, just a fact. If he'd been friendly and helpful I wouldn't have cared where he was from but he wouldn't even look at me and just said "washing machine" when I opened the door before going off to get it and he was very hard to understand when he was muttering that they wouldn't move it as it might damage the floor, which just made the experience all the more frustrating.
If he'd been friendly and said something like "I'm sorry we can't do that as it might damage the floor but we can move it back into the adjacent room so that you can close the door if you prefer" then I would have been more understanding.0 -
What's the point shoving it into place unconnected? He did the right thing to leave it out. And of course he rushed off...youve no idea what time pressure these delivery drivers are under.
So, to summarise this post, I bought an appliance from AO and they did exactly what they're supposed to do. I'm unhappy because the driver didn't make smalltalk and wave goodbye.
Sorry, just try and view it from an outsiders perspective.0 -

If they will push appliances into position, even if it risks damaging the floor then I'll happily buy my tumble dryer from them even if it costs more. If I had known that AO operated like this I would have paid more to get my washing machine elsewhere as well as it would have been worth it not to have my kitchen door blocked.
Hopefully my experience will warn other people in similar situations to go elsewhere and not use AO.0 -

The point is that it wouldn't have been left blocking my kitchen door, which is dangerous. The person who's coming to connect it (which is probably not going to be until Tuesday) could then have pulled it out again. According to you though, leaving an appliance dangerously blocking the kitchen door is exactly what AO are supposed to do.
All I've said is that I expect a decent attitude and a willingness to explain and work with the customer. You're just being deliberately unpleasant to suggest that I expected smalltalk and a wave goodbye.0 -
You can build new walls and lay floors but not move a washing machine slightly?0

In laws have just had a washing machine delivered - and fitted - by AO and can't praise them highly enough. You get what you pay for.0

I'm sorry, but I think you are making a mountain out of a molehill here.
1. I don't see that not being able to close your kitchen door creates a fire hazard. OK, it's good to have internal doors closed if a fire breaks out, but between now and Tuesday just make doubly sure you turn off the cooker, and don't leave the dishwasher on overnight so you aren't creating extra risks.
2. The poor bloke delivering your washer didn't know it's going to be 3 days before you can get help with it
3. The poor bloke delivering your washer is struggling with finding his way about, lugging white goods in and out of folks houses and trying to communicate with people in a language he isn't yet fully familiar with. He doesn't need a moaner like you complaining because you didn't think about where you wanted the washer putting befor he left.
4. AO allow you to choose when you want delivery. If you knew your installation mate wasn't coming until Tuesday, why not have it delivered on Tuesday?
Thing is, I bet if the delivery driver had tried to put the washer under the counter for you and damaged your floor, you would have been on here complaining that AO don't care about their customers.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0 -

So if he was friendly and helpful you wouldn't have mentioned his country of origin, but because he didn't do what you wanted him to, you think it is relevant?0
