AO dumped washing machine in middle of kitchen

I just had a Beko washing machine delivered by AO and when I asked the delivery man to push it into position under the counter he refused as he said it would scratch the floor and that I'd have to move it myself.
So he's left it blocking the gangway, making it difficult to even get in the kitchen and impossible to close the door, which creates a fire-safety hazard. I'm disabled and unable to shift the thing at all, so now I'm stuck with it like that until I can arrange for someone to come and shift it for me.
Are there any companies with better customer service that anyone could recommend I look at for my tumble dryer?

That's fair enough; no delivery fellow is going to want to risk wrecking someone's floor. Could you not of asked for it to be moved so that it wasn't in the way of the door?0

I know for a fact that AO offer an installtion services of washing machines as an aditional extra...I assume you declined this service? If not, then phone up and complain.0

Did you pay for installation? If so, they should have installed it. Otherwise, it's good of them to even bring it through the front door.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230

If you're "disabled, but could try something a bit simple" - and are willing to take the risk to the floor to move it 1-2', squirt raw washing up liquid round the feet ... a puddle of it ... then gently lean against the machine (any weight/pressure should be directed upwards, don't lean down on it) ... and you should be able to shift it to a slightly more convenient spot until "a little man" arrives.
But only do that if you feel it's OK for you and for the floor.0 -
As above, AO will install if you pay for them to do so. However, if you didn't, I wouldn't expect them to do anything other than deliver it to the right house.
Delivery man is correct in that if you'd asked them to move it into a certain position, and there was floor damage, you'd probably complain. It's likely that this has happened before hence the remark.
I had a washing machine, dryer and american style fridge freezer delivered in one go. They opened the fridge, removed the doors, brought the fridge inside and reattached the doors. The washer and dryer were just brought into the utility room.0 -
Whoever you are getting to do the installation , can they pop in and shift it ?
They would move it anyway.

I've just (an hour or so ago) ordered a washing machine from AO, the agreement is that they will deliver to "a room of your choice" which is a lot better than companies I have used in the past who will deliver "to your door". When you order there is options (at a cost) for AO to unpack the appliance, install it, or even to have them dispose your old appliance as well.
I would say that AO held up their end of the bargain, unless you paid for installation?0 -
If you are disabled and knew it was going to be difficult, why didnt you pay for them to install it?
Did you expert free preferential treatment due to your situation?0
