Hi Mick To see your tariff go on your on-line account Click usage then choose tariff information and click on it. If it reads Baseline 2020 issue 1 you are on the cheapest tariff. If it reads Baseline 2019 your probably not and you need to check the rates quoted with a quote from a comparison website like citizens advice Energy comparison. Hope that helps.
By the way every special pack I’ve been offered on the 2020 issue 1 has been 30% or more.1 -
May Day not so special pack
May Day Special Pack is the worst "special" for a long time - just a 15% discount for the equivalent of 5 days electricity. This will be the first special pack that I will pass on due to the miserly discount.
Regarding switching to a new tariff, I eventually got a reply to my email request requesting a switch to the latest one - and it was complete gibberish unrelated to the original request as you can see below. Utterly unimpressive customer service.
Not pressing things further for the next week or two as quite a few cheaper variable rate offers are appearing in my area from the likes of Symbio, Shell Energy and Outfox the market (thanks I suspect in part to the crash in the oil price). If any good fixed rate offers appear I'll be switching.
"The tariff that you are currently on is a part of the tariff 'Top Shopper Elec 2019 Version 2'. As a part of your tariff, you purchase power packs which give you a discounted rate on your electricity. Top shopper is the rates you will achieve if you purchase all the power packs available for the duration of your tariff."

I agree phone is best. The Tariff information next to your tariff name says “Our cheapest prices are available to everyone who shops”.You can also do a quote as a new customer on the powershop website first and check the tariff and rates with what you’re paying now.0

Checking previous posts Equites I can see you’re due to be put on a new tariff anyway as you joined in June 2018. You should receive your new offer shortly.0

So my Tariff is:Baseline Elec 2019 Version 3- Our cheapest prices are available to everyone who shops.-Top Shopper Elec 2019 Version 3Rate: 17.37 p/kWhEffective unit rate available to everyone who purchases all available Powerpacks.13.89 p/kWh
Question: How does this compare with the 2020 Issue 1 Tariff for the Yorkshire/Northern Region - Anyone?Daily charge 24.62 p/day Effective daily charge available to everyone who purchases all available Powerpacks.20.93 p/day 0 -
I got the following quote from powershop for a new customer in Leeds.
2020 issue 1. Baseline 17.168. Top Shopper 12.705
daily charge. Baseline 26.618. Top Shopper. 22.628The new tariff costs 12p per week more but the unit rate is 8.5% cheaper. As the baseline is only very slightly cheaper this means they should offer you bigger discounts. I was on the same tariff as you but left when the discounts dropped and returned on the 2020 issue 1 tariff0 -
Rooster Booster Special Packs today
pack 1 4days electricity 25% discount. pack 2 5days electricity 5% discount.I believe that’s the lowest discount ever but I suppose it makes the 1st pack look good.0 -
Rooster Booster Special Pack
Another very poor pack, with 15% discount for the equivalent of 4 days worth of electricity.
Got the renewal quote from Powershop today as predicted by tlcgrantham.
Deal is cheaper than what I am currently on but things get interesting when I do a new quote for electricity via the Which? Switch Energy website.
There Powershop appears in top three and I get a quote that beats the email renewal offer from Powershop by nearly £30!! This is down to them using two different tariffs (all values below are VAT inclusive and we're looking at the best topshopper rates). I reran the test via Powershop's own website and get the same result.
Email Offer = Top Shopper Elec 2020 Version 1.
Unit Rate = 13.40p/Kwh.
Daily Charge = 22.554p/day
Which/Powershop website = Top Shopper 2020 Issue 1.
Unit Rate = 12.926 pence per kWh.
Daily Charge = 19.982 pence per day
Now to decide if I can be bothered arguing with them on the phone about the differences or just go for a cheaper supplier, I see Outfox the market has a fixed rate deal that is even cheaper than all of the above. Need to read about their customer service etc.1
