Dancing is so good for our spirits but apparently also our brains. I love the kitchen dance idea

I love the kitchen dance idea too. Such a cheerful thing to do and I would enjoy making playlists for it.

confession first, I am up another pound and am scaling back the dance to 10 mins a day otherwise I’m committing to failure. Some highs and lows over the past week. Highs inc Ernie gifting me £100 and dh £175. Lows include getting a car insurance renewal on my 9 year old car for £1300. I know insurances are higher in NI but that really is a pi££ take. I also got a chip in my windscreen while driving back from my Tuesday site visit but this was repaired at no cost to me on Wednesday. That’s apart from what’s going on across the world, the domestic impacts and the sheer feeling of despair. Not intending to be political but feeling completely powerless to influence. Having lived through bombings, shootings, fear on a much much smaller scale and having witnessed the long term impacts on mental health, infrastructure and local economy, I wish trigger happy people would consider the multitude of research done on post conflict impacts rather than just responding to the as is.
Yesterday I made some work inroads and have an outline plan for today and the coming week.
Today I am grateful for
A chat with a friend
Work progress
Dh’s gift from Ernie to help rebalance the treat fund.

I'd suggest stocking up on non-perishable/tinned foodstuffs next time you have to take a trip over the border, as well as filling your fuel tank. The impact will soon be felt on anything that is transported by sea.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?4 -
I'm entirely with you in wishing trigger-happy people would take the long-term mental health effects into consideration, and I live in an area much less affected by conflict than yours. This intensity can only last a limited time, surely, but for so many, the effects last forever and we will all be dealing with the fallout for years to come. However, having grown up with parents who lived through WW2, I've also seen that normal life can come back and the sun will shine again. We have to hold onto that.
Nice of Ernie to pay you both another visit - he seems to like you!
I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I hadn’t even thought of the need to secure store cupboard supplies. That’s a job for today, working out what’s needed and from where it can be sourced. Typically though these would be cheaper in the north rather than the south. The same has been true of car fuel recently though that was the other way round for a long while.
Can someone please tell me that I wasn’t the only one wakening with puffy eyes after call the midwife?
Today i am grateful for
DH helping with a work job
Me finally getting the ironing cleared
Having no reason to leave the house yesterday (although this meant my attire was less than admirable)
