That's all so encouraging! Nice that Ernie has remembered you, too! Mind you, you're the one who made it all happen.

no weigh in yesterday as dh was at his parents for the weekend. One win was that a £15 item sold on vinted. I was busy with work last week including delivering a job in Dublin on Saturday, this did mean that I was able to shop in Aldi and break up the 100 mile journey home. Laundry was done yesterday and then dh came home with three days’ worth of clothes. DD sorted through the category of items I had asked her to look at and also tackled a one off job. I made dinner for both of us yesterday (something dh isn’t a fan of) and there are two meals left over. I remembered that I do like cooking just not when dh is hovering.
in other news, we have booked to see Paddington the musical for the end of July and I am so excited. DD bought us a gift voucher for it for Christmas. Having considered likely time spent in hotel, we opted for cheap and cheerful with small cash back and flights were booked to maximise rewards. I know we had our big holiday last November/ December but it seems forever since we had a pure leisure break. As dh’s parents age and their health deteriorates, more funds and his free time is spent running back and forth. While the flight time is just over an hour, with the trains, buses, lift to airport etc., you need to allow 5 hours each way.
I need to get the working week underway after having brought dd to and from her dental appointment. Today I am grateful forA vinted sale leaving the house

well guess what, the travelling pounds travelled back. Now at 12st 1lb. It just feels so ground hog day but I know the change needs to come from me. DH and I had a fairly lazy weekend about from a trip to the cash and carry where £160 was spent. We were given 4 free loaves 2 of these went to a neighbour as I unpacked.
Today I was due to be on site with a client but they asked to defer this to Friday. Last week I read an article called can you think yourself rich? I’m not saying that it was transformational but I’m trying to take some things on board. One is being grateful for having money to pay bills instead of moaning about depleting pots. In common with others on here, I hate seeing savings reduce even when money is being spent for the purpose intended. The article also talks about generosity of both spirit and of resources. I’ve been working on that a bit since ny but would like to do more.
The weird thing is that since reading and taking a few baby steps, I’ve had my lowest cost pre mot check and got a favourable response to a small bid I submitted a few months ago. I’m now revisiting the article a few times a week.I’m still quite anxious about money but I think always will be as the most financially fraught period of my life was when I was a single parent really feeling responsibility for my two. As the younger one approaches 40, I recognise the need to move on from that.
Today the deferred visit makes it feel like I’ve been gifted a day so I want to make sure my home benefits from it. Today I am grateful for
