I have to admit that I watch some peoples spending with a mix of admiration that they can spend without worrying, and with quietly fascinated horror when you know they haven't got it to spend but having been in a tight spot a few times over the years I find that the 'fear' never quite goes away.
Completely with you on hating spending the savings on the things that you were saved for!

While I don't 'do' manifesting, I really think mental attitude is practically everything. It's the outworking of the old glass half full vs glass half empty. We are so surrounded by excess that it's hard to see it as just that: excess. More than we need.
Can you tell I've just opened a bag of summer clothes from the loft and am wondering what I really want of them? 😊

well it’s been a roller coaster of a week. First off I’m down a pound to 12 stone though have no idea how. The worst of the bad news is that the second of my children has had a confirmed cancer diagnosis. It’s early doors and hopefully completely curable by surgery scheduled for March but this is not only both my children but also the fourth from that generation of my family, all of whom required surgery some with follow up, with another two having had pre cancerous cells lasered. While I’m grateful for their survival, part of me can only say why them?
on other news, the other offspring had his 6 month check up and doesn’t need to be seen by the oncologist for another 6 months. In money news, two invoices were paid but I still haven’t done my pension transfer as DH and I haven’t had the money / forward planning talk. I also secured a 3 year contract albeit for a low value but it I would be a well paid daily rate if I got it delivered in the days for which I quoted. This coming week is going to be heavy going work wise but we are heading into March so I’d probably be panicking if it wasn’t.
there’s also some good news / bad news to be declared. The good news is that I managed to secure waitlist tickets for a sold out play that I had expected to have tickets as a Christmas present but they didn’t materialise. The bad news is that paying for flights and hotel costs for our Paddington weekend means there’s no treat pot money available. That said, I’m going on the basis that it can be paid from reserves to be made up between now and July. This week we sold a £7 item on vinted and some cash back cleared. DH is motivated to put some more on vinted plus there are other items to be sold elsewhere.Today needs to get underway so I will crack on. Today I am grateful for
Tickets
Reasonably positive outcomes from medical appointments
Confirmed income that will take me into my 60s
