Morning Gang
We are going away for a few days tommorow. So have been planning around that.
* Extra large chicken cooked last night, we had a roast meal then and today will have a curry, and use the last of it in sandwiches for the train journey. For £5.75 that's pretty good.
* Will be walking all journies today so no bus spends, no travel card costs for OH this week too which is saving is around £30 & me around £10
* Meeting a new client at 11am for a possible new event in the summer
* Yesterday I had confirmation that my new business account had been approved which has 25 month's free banking, a saving of roughly £500.
Anyway time to get going.

All over the place today, but at least I haven't spent any money! Have worked all morning, now settling down to do an extra hour of work for another client. Can't even remember what should be on my list, but have no plans to spend any money today, so I'll stop worrying about what i'm not doing and just call that a win :rotfl:
Enjoying reading everyone else's posts to give me more ideas for when my brain is working again (tomorrow, please brain, if it's not too much bother).Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.
Divorcing, unclear on final debt total right now, but focusing on building a financial buffer zone.0 -
Purple Fairy - Yes, you can certainly use your laundry basket for growing potatoes, courgettes or whatever. So far, I've grown veg in old compost sacks, a laundry basket, the tiers from a knackered electric steamer, an inverted compost bin, a defunct lawn-mower basket, a chimney pot, an old cracked fridge salad drawer, a supermarket delivery crate I wombled from behind their bottle banks, etc, etc. Think what size pot you would need to buy to plant 2 or 3 seed potatoes or a courgette or scallopini squash plant........if your recycled container is a similar size & of sufficient depth for root development, & if you are hot on watering (& feeding during fruiting time) then go for it!2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever

Ziggy - Your story about your neighbours reminded me of the couple who lived next door to me in my previous house. Their garden was an absolute eye-sore.....stuff absolutely strewn everywhere.....not in the sense of them being hoarders like you see on TV as that's a recognised psychological condition. This was just 'can't be ar*sed'. I hated looking down on their rubbish tip of a garden because I always kept mine nice but it was endlessly fascinating. They had furniture out there, a set of kitchen stools, bags of rubbish that never actually made it the 1 metre to the wheelie bin, old pet beds, piles of broken plastic toys.......you name the rubbish, it was out there! One night, not long after mr f had moved in with me, we'd been hearing a lot of clanking from next door, & then we smelled smoke, so we snuck a look out of the bedroom window &.......... get this!! He'd raked it all into a massive heap in the centre of the lawn (aka 2 foot high grass) AND SET FIRE TO IT!! (because that's got to be easier than taking it to the tip on the next street, hasn't it?!) Next morning, we got up & peered round the curtain & fell about laughing because absolutely all of the cr*p heap was still there........but now with a bit of a blackened tinge!

And now for today's money saving efforts......
*Posted 2 ebay items.
*Paid a wodge of cash from our Savings Piggies into bank account & then transferred it to the funds it now needs to be in.
*Received an emailed apology from bank re unclear instructions on the partial loan repayment we have scheduled for early March. Have now been able to progress this.
*Sainsbury's £15 gift card arrived in post (latest earnings from Toluna surveys - updated signature)
*Did a few surveys as am getting towards payout on all of them so am trying to maximise points.
*Dinner as per meal plans - leftover cannelloni I froze the other week.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch & breakfast.
*Laundry done over night on cheap tariff. Washed the final load of this week on full-price tariff to make use of a dry day for pegging out. Yesterday's load completely dried out there so no electricity needed for heated airer.
*Take a coffee down the greenhouse & sow more seeds.
Cheers all,

Not much MS going on today.
- Had a trip out to the Yorkshire Dales parking a rip off but managed to get a free scone, Jam and cream.
- went bowling last night at Hollywood bowl for entertainment - used code party30 and got £4.90 off.
- Relisted a Facebook sale
- FPL
- Booked an afternoon tea through a cashback site and used a code to get 12% off - saving about £3. It's a hotel where we got married, in the Yorkshire Dales again so will be a nice treat.
- Chased up some cashback only £4.60 but I'd rather it in my purse!
That's all for me, LP xCompetition wins £14,136.30[\COLOR]0
