  • Hi all,

It's been a hectic week or so in the Pea household. We lost our beautiful chameleon last week :( We'd only had him a couple of years but he'd suffered a prolapse last autumn and never really recovered, poor little chap :( We've had him cremated (don't have a garden) so should get him back this week. We've got some of his kit that Mr Pea is going to sell. We miss him very much.

I got some new tyres/ inner tubes for my bike at the weekend and actually rode to work today! I haven't ridden it for about 15 years and needless to say I had a very numb bum when I got to work!! It was mostly downhill getting here so I'm not looking forward to the uphills going home :rotfl:

The reason I've started cycling is that I'm doing extra hours again for the next three months. I'll be working 8 - 6.30 every weekday. This saves Mr Pea having to drive me or me having to leave home at 7.30am to walk. It only took 10 minutes to cycle this morning. The extra money is going towards our holidays this year - a couple of cottage stays plus a long weekend in Rome for our anniversary in September. I haven't been abroad in 6 years! Everything is going to be budgeted for to avoid debt.

I left my sandwich in the fridge this morning (doh) so will have to spend £1 on one of the O2 Priority meal deals :o

Huge workload at work as always

Banking is checked. I want to close my premium bonds account this week and move the money over to a savings account ready to go into a LISA in April.

Budget for next month done. I have about £3 left to last until next Tuesday but we have enough food to last and I've got stuff to bring for lunch if I don't keep forgetting it!

    Have a lovely week all

    Afternoon all,

No spends at all so far today, I had the YS Indian meal for one for lunch, I wouldn't recommend it but it was okay for 25p.

I need to call my not worth a lot pension provider to ask them to send me the paperwork to cash it in. I plan to do this in the current tax year (to pay off most of my debt before my super frugal year) as I'm hoping that it then hopefully won't affect my entitlements to tax credits next year.

I have emailed round at work to request they let me slip out quietly on Friday (they are cancelling the mariachi band :rotfl: ) I have let them know that I am up for freelancing on Thursdays for the foreseeable if they ever need a spare pair of hands.I might put a call out on Llnkedln to the same effect.

I'm not sure what to do for dinner tonight, yesterday was a bit carb heavy so maybe I'll just bake the YS chicken breasts from a couple of weeks back with the dregs of two bottles of N@ndos sauce. Will need to buy coleslaw to go with it or maybe one of the YS salad leaves bags that nobody ever wants.

Hope you're all having a good day, good luck with the interview CCL

Do people REALLY pay that?:eek::eek:

To be honest I rarely clean mine. It only has wrapped and bagged rubbish put in it, and a bucket of soapy water and a brush every few months is quite sufficient!

Hi everyone! Sorry I've not been around for a while, life with a 3 month old is hectic and I've been very non-MSE :( I need to reign it in and get back into my money saving ways, our mortgage has been accepted and we might be moving in April time! Anyways in regards to my PND, I'm feeling SO much better and have settled into my new life! Today I have/will:

    - Walk with SIL and kiddies - Done 3 hours!
    - Check banking - Done - CB paid
    - Make dinner at home - Spag bol
    - List a few things on FB selling pages
    - Sort monthly budget spreadsheet for payday next week - Done

I will leave it at that for today, I hope everyone is OK and keeping well x

  • Hi all

Sorry to hear your news PrincessPea. Oh and well done on the cycling to work. I sometimes cycle to work when I dont have to take DS1 to the school bus. My work is 6 miles away and I actually quite enjoy it, might do it one day this week. The worst thing is that because I have to look quite smart for work I have to get changed and sort out my hair and makeup when I get there.

Confession time - I have never ever washed out my wheelie bin. Am I a slob?

So today - up early, kitchen cleaned, lunch packed and off to work. Home now, have run around with the carpet sweeper, tidied, put a load of washing in, cleaned the loos and made our bed. Curry for tea which is already sorted, now on with more paid stuff.

Ah I think the washing is finished, will get that hung outside, its quite spring like.
  • Hi katy_ann good to see you again and to hear things are on the up for you. The better weather on it's way will only help with that x

princesspea so sorry to hear about your pet x
