  • Morning Dawn & 1LL :) yay to the weekend & 5 days until I return to work :j Madam had a sleepover at bff's last night so all is peaceful in the DMNS household. Actually should try to do something rather than just sitting here drinking coffee :D Meeting bff at 11.30 and then we are going out for the day :D

    What shall I do?!

    * check banking
    * tidy up - kitchen and lounge are a mess!
    * reconcile accounts - have fallen by the wayside this month :o
    * make some scones and fairy cakes
    * make some butter with ys cream :)
    * I need to do some work - but sure if I'll do it today though....
    * do meal plan and shopping list. Trying not to do a big shop until next month. We have plenty in the freezer but all involves defrosting & cooking. Nothing that is quick to hand!

Ok that's all for me I think .

FVD eek to starting out on a new road! Have the courage of your convictions, if it doesn't work out you can always go back to what you have been doing. If we never try we'll never know!

1LL glad you had a lovely break :D

ally your post made me chuckle and reminded me of a meme "not going to out, going to bed early, not going to the party. My childhood punishments have become my adult goals" :rotfl:

Ok gonna make some more coffee and sort out my finances!

  • Morning all :coffee:
Yesterday ended up being a bit of a write off - I was just so tired and grumpy all day that I couldn't get anything useful done. I just moaned and watched tv and crocheted. Other than that, nothing much.
Good news is that the tyre pressure light didn't come back on when I popped out to take the kids to their various clubs so fingers crossed for that.
I also looked after bestie's ds for a few hours - her mil is in hospital and she wanted to visit without the little one there.
I also confess to being grumpy again today - not the best of starts.

    Morning all,

New starts of jobs, houses and kitchens! Yay!

CCL hope you feel less grumpy soon :)

Yesterday I gave my meter readings in and due to the last couple of bills being estimates it looks like my winter gas bill will be very low as in £20? This is great as I have my heating set at 19/19.5 at all times and boost when feeling cold. I don't turn it off because my house can take hours of constant firing to get back to that and I just don't do well if I am cold...end up hibernating in a depressed fog feeling like the end of the world is nigh! :rotfl:
Electricity will only be about £120 so I should be owed at least a couple of hundred back again this year and will readjust my DD once the bill hits the door mat! :T

    *Start shopping list
*Think about going to SuperM - unlikely :D
    *All food from stores
    *work,work,work from home
*Possibly a bit of tidying up but not sure if I will have the time
*Check budgets - this is a little obsessive atm but necessary for food shop ;)

    Lets do this!
Happiness is wanting what you have...

Same here. Have just looked at the amount of hours I have done this month on job no. 2 and it is fairly dire. So today will be spent working which is sort of OK because I dont want to end up short of cash next month. And I am behind with the work so it will make me feel less stressed next week too.

However, it is 10.55am and I am nowhere near making a start! I have done 15k on the spinning bike, lifted some weights, had a shower, tidied the kitchen and put a load of washing in to go over the airer.

Right, need to blast my hair with the dryer, finish this bacon butty, brush my teeth and get on with it!!!

    Morning all,

Just in work now and going through emails and tasks. I am supposed to be filling out my appraisal form but I got the section where I am supposed to detail how my performance aligns with the company's values but fundamentally I don't care :rotfl:

    ...

hubs has just been in and brought me a bunch of flowers :) am not particularly into flowers but they are nice as an occasional treat when not expected :)

    ...

So erm, list (It's now half an hour later!)
    • B/L from stores. Having dinner out tonight.
    • Reconcile budget sheet tonight as OH going away tomorrow for 5 days - done
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Nip out to get OH's vitamins - nope left early instead
    Must be more than that?

    Have a good one all

    Morning all
    - Thanks for the tip on stamps Ally I might stock up, I like to do postal comps occasionally and well done on missing the party!
    - Just like Lucky Lady my DD wants a PJ day, although I'm getting cabin fever now, so might nip out to town for a coffee and a window shop. Will womble Costa receipts whilst I'm there. Wombled 5 yesterday!
    - Sold 2 items on Facebook, only small values but in my pocket and clearing my spare room. Bumped the remaining posts.
    - Like DNMS my DD made scones (and a mess!) today, I had one for my breakfast warm. Yum yum.
    - Pleased that I got my butt into gear yesterday and washed my car rather than spending on the jet wash.
    - Trying to get the last dregs out of washing up liquid, upside down in the kitchen.
    - Trying to get the last dregs out of face moisturiser and foundation. When I think its come to an end, I find more comes out!
    - I've got loads of food in the cupboards and the freezer so I'm going to just buy some bits from Aldi today - toilet rolls, milk, yogurts and cheese for my DD's packed lunch. I'm defrosting a pack of sausages for tea/dinner and will probably use up eggs that as passed their BB date for lunch.
    - FPL and comps
    - checked market research nothing of interest.
Thanks all for today, LP x

    Morning, everyone!

Feeling ready to face today and in a money-saving mood and fired up by a good cup of coffee, so that's good. I'm trying to attack some household filing today - I've been procrastinating terribly with it and it's definitely time to show it where it belongs. Haha. :T It's not going to be a NSD unfortunately as I have to take the train later, but some of it can be claimed back at work so that's good.

    Hope everyone is well today.

    Today I have/will:
*[STRIKE]put tyres back on to bike and clean bike -[/STRIKE] new tyres and inner tubes put on, cleaned up, now need to look at adjusting brakes
*[STRIKE]sew button on to OH's trousers, failed to do this yesterday[/STRIKE] Yes! The button is on :T
*[STRIKE]free coffee in town[/STRIKE] trying to kick the habit - I think I like the smell of coffee more than the taste - OH says I should walk around with some coffee beans instead :)
*[STRIKE]ask the mobile repair shop about repairing an old phone we have kicking around; I'm looking for a new one as mine is on the blink and it might save us some £££[/STRIKE] done. Tried two shops and one said it would be pretty pricey; the other said if they can't fix it for £30 there's nothing to pay
*organise household bills into folder - :T Finally! I spent £1 at P***dland and bought a divider file. All done and looking nice and organised.
*[STRIKE]set budgets up on Money Dashboard; investigated it after some recommendations - bit torn between that and YNAB to be honest[/STRIKE] done. Sent information to OH so we can set up a household budget
*[STRIKE]homemade yoghurt in the yoghurt maker[/STRIKE] done. Pretty happy with this yoghurt maker. OH will have yoghurt ready when he gets back from work in a few days :)
    *free exercise outdoors
*[STRIKE]filing -[/STRIKE] Yes! I have triumphed against the great filing monster
    *work, work, work! :T

    Have a super day everyone,
