£300 costs. The £620 isn't the fine.0 -

Thanks for stating the obvious.0 -

The scale lists the costs which the CPS ask the court to award, the court makes the decision. In this case, the magistrates appear to have taken pity on the OP.0 -

Or the CPS have only asked for £320, I've seen them ask for some very low sums which aren't at all inline with your link.0 -

Why so argumentative Walt?0 -

You may be right, and that would in fact be in line, since the linked page says:
"The following scales provide guidance on the level of costs incurred by the CPS .... ... Discretion should be exercised in putting forward a reasonable estimate of the costs incurred in the individual case."0 -

The trouble is I don't think the prosecutor has any idea of what the costs involved are. How can they if they only got the papers half an hour before court?0 -

I hope I don't get caught murdering anyone - how would I best ensure this?.

TBF, the penalty for using the closed lane was £100. The penalty for him being an argumentative liar was £420.
What do you understand by liar? Someone who's lying !? "Everybody lies !" - Dr. House. I believe someone who claims not lying at all is an hypocrit.
I am not 100% convinced about my guilt but I don't have any evidence I and someone swears seeing me driving under the red X. Probably I did, slowly driving c!ose to a lory that was limiting my visual field I switched on the left lane somewhere near or under the gantry. After all the incident was behind me and the exit I needed to use was 1/2 mile down the road.0 -
Considering he turned down an awareness course at the beginning it really is a large chunk of "stupidity tax" he's now paying...
The officer makes a mistake in the NIP about the location of the offence that made me suspicious. Also in the statement corrected a bit the mistake but still not very precise. She claims having over 10 years experience as a traffic officer. Didn't knew such an error doesn't matter much. I wish though finding pepipoo forum sooner.0
