Vodafone seem to be doing a deal at the minute which is a sim only deal for 500 mins unlimited texts for only £10 a month and only a 30 DAY contract. You can cancel at any time giving 30 days notice.
Sounds ideal if you are not worried about a new phone.0 -

Whoops! sorry, yes you are right, I was just checking the email they sent me!
That's the one I was thinking of! Sorry, its early!0 -
Just spoke to retentions who offered me the C905 on 18month at 150 mins 500 tx £25per month.
Based on what I use it is rare that I go near using 150 mins and over the deal the contract would cost £60 as the phone retails for £390. Don't think it's too bad what do you guys think?0 -
phone costs £450, bargain.0

i wish i'd read some of these comments before contacting vodafone last week, i originally just wanted my PAC code as thinking of going to a cheaper provider, maybe even PAYG as never use all my contract minutes.
i was persuaded by a very 'pushy' advicer to stay with vodafone, i was promised 200mins, 100 texts for £10 a month 18mth contract if i kept my phone and did'nt have an upgrade, however he did say he would 'throw in ' a phone for free that i could use as a spare .
it sounded a good deal, however written info has arrived today, together with the bill for the phone !! ( its a tatty old phone , obviously end of line that could'nt sell, no suprise as its hideous !! )
also the contract states that the last 3mths of contract i have to pay £20 !!
with all the current competive offers from other companies, why would i pay £20 to vodafone for 200mins, ( when i could get 600mins, unlimited texts and a free latest phone available with o2 fand virgin, for £15 )
i have spent many hours today trying to cancel and make a complaint, i was holding on line for over 2hrs , eventually got through was told agreement would go back to what i originally agreed and could keep the phone for free, i have asked for written confirmation as i just don't trust them , wish i'd just left vodafone and not let myself be coerced into staying with them0 -
I am due for an upgrade soon and I was going to change to O2 because my last bill was £200 and this one is apparently going to cost me £288 which is not good for my ever increasing overdraft...but after reading this I'm thinking I might be able to wangle quite a good deal...yes?
Thanks Claire0 -
If your bills are that high I'd find out what sort of minutes and texts your using, get a tarif that covers that and then negotiate the price on it.0

I've been thinking of sorting out my contract with vodafone for ages and finally got round to it today thanks to this forum. I was offered a Sony Ericsson C905 with 100min & 50txt for £20 on an 18 month contract.
They originally offered a £25 a month with 250min & 100txt but I'm such a light user that I never need all that so asked for the reduced deal. I tried to get the £4.99 delivery waived but they weren't having it.
I'm pretty happy about it though, it's cut my monthly bill in half and got me a great phone with 8meg camera - I was in the market to get a digital camera anyway so this should do the job.0 -
It is only the last 2 months that it has been this high. I am using more minutes but not THAT many, that's extortionate...think I will give them a phone, although I looked out my original contract date and my contract doesn't end until may so will I be able to do anything about it yet?0
