Bit of a long shot as I still have 8 months to go. On CTRA75+VP+18M and don't use most of it, BUT, about to start using it a whole lot more, esp for data (email) and would like the new blackberry storm. Would Vfe offer deals to extend current contract a further 12 months, higher tariff and new phone for example?
Cheers.0 -
You can up your tariff at any point, aslong as you are not asking for a promotional one.
You can opt for an early upgrade, which is a 6 months extention but there will be a cost towards the phone.0 -
hiya everyone,
just checked online and it says i can upgrade online as of 4th november,
now the phone i have seen is the samsung steel
£35 per month / 600 mins / unlimited texts / unlimited internet
now my questions are:
even if i upgrade do i still get the free gifts as advertised online? (ideal for xmas)
does this come with a new sim card or do i put my current sim into the new phone?
can my current phone be put on either pay as you go or monthly sim?
thanks guys!0 -

Have you had a PDA before?
If the answer is no, don't take it.
Have you had a phone without a keypad before?
if the answer is no, don't take it.
Have you had a touchscreen before?
If the answer is no, don't take it.
The phone was NOT made by Sony, it was made by HTC, which are the primary markers of Windows Mobile Business phones.
I've had a go of this phone, and the keyboard is horrible. If you've not used a Windows based phone b4, stick too what your used too aye.
Note: I own a Windows Mobile phone with a keyboard and I still think it sucks.0 -
Hmmmm, 10 years with Vodafone, contract due to expire in 2 weeks. I rang Vodafone this morning to request my PAC after calling 3 times this week and not getting a good deal.
After telling him I'd seen a better deal on Phones 4U website. He commented on how he'd seen that deal too, then ran me through the procedings of recieving my PAC. Didn't seem at all interested in trying 1 last time to keep me.
Just a couple of questions.- Was he not bothered about keeping me because the Phones4U deal was also with Vodafone?
- Can I expect a phone call begging me to stay with Vodafone in the next 4 days.
Prehaps I'm asking to much, I really want an Omnia, N95 or C905.0 -
You're asking for too much, on a 12 month contract anyway.
If you ran a telecoms company, would you give someone who's only spent £225 in the last year take away a £400-500 phone on another 12 month contract? I wouldn't.
Theres also the factor you received airtime and you will also be receiving airtime and the upkeep of the network, the staff you call for issues, etc.0 -

Thanks for the advice but I'm sure I'll be ok. The phone has everything I need and more and I like the Opera browsing software. Currently using a Blackberry Curve work phone, it's what I'm used to but now it's old, outdated and ready for the museum. Considered the Blackberry Storm but I do prefer the X1. I've got 3 weeks to decide.0 -
just got my deal today, N96 600 mins, unlimited texts and internet for £29.99/m didnt think that was too bad really so took it0

I know all of you are looking for a good deal for your phone as I do. But I need to warn you for few things. Here is my story:
My Vodafone contract was eligible for an upgrade and I emailed Vodafone with an offer I found from Dialaphone with Orange with a free Samsung Omnia. Next day someone called and made a better offer that included half price line rental, which I accepted. Being very cautious, I repeated the offer and made that person repeat it twice. Next day, I called 191 to make sure that everything was applied on my contract as I was offered. IT WAS NOT! Only half of the things were in and full price line rental!
On 191 they didn't take any responsibility. In addition, they refused to transfer me to the person I originally talked to, even though I knew the specific extension. I asked for my contract to be canceled and I was on hold for 1 hour, after which I hanged up. It is worth saying that the same thing happened again at my previous upgrade, only that the 14 days had passed when I found out, and it took me 8 months to find a partial solution.
I have reasons to believe that this is one of the "silent tactics" for customer retention and profit making. I have now sent a formal letter and an online complaint (using FIT135). Furthermore, I am about to file complaints with Consumer Direct and Ofcom. Once I do all this, I will tell you exactly how to file complaints, so we can put an end to mobile phone providers deceiving us like that in order to earn more money.
In the meantime some piece of advice:- When you speak to customer services or sales, ALWAYS ASK for the NAME and EXTENSION of the person you are speaking, so if something goes wrong you know who to blame.
- When you are offered something, ALWAYS CALL BACK and CHECK the following day. If you find out that something went wrong when the bill comes, it will be too late.
