  • Mine and my sisters contracts are up in 2 months time and we want to get new plans (me especially after i have been going over by some ££ the last few months).

Currently on 200 minutes, 500 texts STC for £30. Been looking on the site and i want the samsung omnia which for free is on a £35 pm 600 mins unlitmited texts and unlimited email and internet.

However i am the 2nd phone as its all in my sisters name but i want to go on my own contract in my own name so are they likely to let me change over without cancelling and also giving me the same deal?

is it best to ring up a month before or can you ring whenever? as they say you can upgrade 70 days before your contract ends.

I don't know about texts, but if you ask for Vodafone Passport it will give you calls to America that are included in your monthly minutes for a 75p connection charge.
Vodafone Passport is for roaming rather than outgoing calls. Also I don't think the USA is covered by it.

You can do a change of ownership quickly and easily if you call 191 when you are both present. This can be done anytime.

As far as when to call goes... I don't that's so important as much who you speak to. Don't accept a deal from any department other than outbound retentions.

Just requested pac code and they offered me 12 month contract

    10.00
    250 mins ( no stc)
    100 txts
    no handset

i told him i had seen o2 offering it for 7.50 but he checked:o and couldnt find it!! doesnt sound brilliant to me, what do you think?

Edit :He then rang back and gave me same deal with a nokia 6300 but on an 18 month contract, so I asked for pac c ode, I asked for stc he said they arent allowed to put it on new tarriffs?

Have just been rung by 08080000133, he asked me what I wanted to stay so I said the same as Im on now but for 10.00 per month instead of 25.00p/m

    12 month contract
    225 mins plus stc
    vod passport
    100 txts
    nokia 6300 (no delivery charge)

    For 10.00 a month for 12 months

He gave me the option of 225mins plus stc or 250 mins with no stc, funny I was told only yesterday they cant give stc anymore or 12 month contracts with a handset for 10.00!!

    a couple of questions:

    1) For the last couple of years I've called inbound retentions and only ever got the 9-mth 1/2 price deals rather than prices for the whole 12-months, I'm coming to the end of the 9 months, what is the best thing to do?

    2) What do ppl mean by free email and free internet on their phone tarrifs?

(with reference to point (2) I have a 3G card for work, so know that it works, but was not clear what is included on a phone contract rather than a data card contract. In the past I know that certain traffic was not included in a phone contract).
  • I've been with Vodafone since i got my first phone in 1998.

    I've been on 100mins+50texts @ £15/month.

In August, I called to upgrade. I got offered not much so I called up and selected the "Thinking of leaving" option and when I got through to Retentions, I asked for a Nokia 6300 as I'd decided to go for a basic phone and see what they could do with the rest. They immediately offered my £10/month - same contract. I think I checked it was 12months - can't remember. I asked for a memory card, got a 1Gb card, I accepted and phone was sent through.

Memory card didnt come through but I call them and then sent on a 2Gb one. I also found out at this point my contract is 18months. I didnt bother complaining.

August... bill arrives. Bill is £15. I assume the £10'll kick in next bill.
September... bill arrived. Bill is £15. Argh.

I phone customer services. The women on the line curtly says that I choice the phone over the deal and that it is Vodafone business rules that a customer is *never* offered a discount *and* a phone and that I chose the phone over the discount! She wouldnt accept that it was possible I was mistreated and wouldnt budge on any factor.

The only argument I see is that someone else has the same/similar deal, thus proving her statement untrue! I'm disgusted and will leave Vodafone as soon as I can.

  • right we have just rang up. we have 2 phones on one bank account.

Told them we want one with the Tocco and one with the Omnia, said the tocco was going to be £30 and they had to find out about the omnia but said we wanted to get a free phone. Told them we wanted unlimited texts because thats what we keep going over on and unlimited internet for £35 (basically the same as a new customer would get, for both phones).

They said no so took us to promotions or something. Were going to give us a deal but wanted an extra £5 for internet so we said no and said we would cancel as can get free on the internet so he said 'ok, heres our address, you need to confirm it in writing that you want to cancel and need to give 30 days notice', we said ok we want the PAC code and that was the end of it.

have we messed up or will they ring back with the PAC code and try to get us to stay? Hope so :D

guy was a bit snotty too.
