does anyone know if calling the 08080600682 number on the PAC code letter gets you through to the same retentions team that make the outgoing calls from the 08080000133 number? i.e. do they have the power to make decent offers?0

Just got a call from outbound retentions, and got this:
750mins xnet
250 sms
Silver SE W890i
12 month contract
£15pm0 -
got offered a samsung steel last week for £12.50 p/m inc 225 xnet mins and 250 texts, accepted and phone came today, o/h did not like so phoned to return under cooling of period, way to bulky
they would not budge with regard to offering the latest handsets but given a chioice of about 6 with same allowance and discount, 12 mth term
handsets nokia 6500
sony c702
sonyg502
sony w890
motorola u9 pebl type
samsung ? can't remember but not tocco/soul
lg viewty
went for sony w890, as small, light and slim, o/h requirements, also comes with memory card and redemption voucher to log on to sony site and receive free pair of mobile speakers, don't know which type
my contract was £40 p/m for 500 + 500, never really went over allowance, tried fot sony 902 but no chance, realise others may have got better deals but happy with this, enough mins and texts for me, and no hassle with cashbacks
this retentions lark is quite good, vodafone, however, are not as generous as 3 or o2

been on sim only deal £15 for a couple of months and phoned for PAC code.
got offered free Samsung Tocco on 12 month contract for £20pm - 500 mins and 100 txts. same mins and txts with Nokia 6500 classic for £15 or, without a phone on 12 month contract for £10pm. Declined all so far.
got second call and offered far worse!! according to the person i was speaking to the deal above would have been for 18 month contract (even though both I and Voda were quite clear it was a 12 month deal). anyway, I am not going to be moving my number or accepting a deal from them just yet but it's interesting to see what they are offering.0 -
Accepted the following from outbound retentions:
No handset
75 mins, rollover + STC
100 SMS
VF Passport
Unlimited mobile internet
£8 a month x 18 months
= £144
The tariff is a half price version as my existing one, which is perfect for my usage but have now got mobile internet thrown in for good measure.
Had a good chat with the guy in retentions, about how their system works. The phrase he kept using was 'reinvestment value' which is the amount of money you've spent in total since you last upgraded, which can be used to acquire handsets and/or discount tariffs. This is a different system to what upgrades will use, which is based on your last 3 months usage. All very interesting actually...
Have now ordered an unlocked sim-free Nokia E66 from play.com. With an unlocked device I can finally use my international travellers sim card."Who throws a shoe, honestly?"

I was on the same contract as you i think. Did it happen to be the deal with 12 months free line rental and a lg prada phone?
I also asked for the C902, but was told it would be £20pm on a 12 month contract.0 -

mine was a phones4udeal, free xbox 360 arcade, plus £320 cashback and lg chocolat, cashback went thru ok, one last one to send in for last £80,
oops i forgot, vodafone offered same deal with 902 but i would need to pay £45 towards it

There was some confusion with my upgrade for a w890i, so I rang up and managed to negotiate a SE C902, 750mins 250txt on a 12month contract for £15pm.
Nearly beats the best cashback deal, so im happy.0 -
I spoke to retentions again and said I fancied an Omnia. She said the best they could do would be:
Samsung Omnia
300 minutes
100 texts
18 mth contract
£22.50 p/m
Any good or should I hold out for a better deal?0
