I think its a cracking deal, but am worried about the phone.Do you think I could get a better phone, and what advice would you give me to get it cheaper, with a better phone.
The Steel is a very much cheaper phone than the Soul. If you're happy with that deal then that's all that matters but "disconnections" are not the people who offer the best deals - rententions are. You will only speak to them after your PAC has been generated and they call you. I really wouldn't accept any deal from anyone else. They can also offer you the same discount for the full 12 months.

Also, don't forget that the cheaper of those two deals not only doesn't have unlimited internet but is for 18 months. Personally, I would much rather pay a bit extra and upgrade every 9 months (since Vodafone let you upgrade 70 days early).

The way things are going (with networks desperate to get rid of 12 month contracts) I reckon once they tempt people out of them it'll soon be impossible to switch back. If I didn't already have a 12 month contract I'd be super keen to get one while I can. Hopefully those of us who already have them will just be able to renew on the same terms every year even if they do become unavailable for new connections.

Wrote the deals down and will stand my ground!!
Quite right! You know they CAN do it. My sis saved a lot of time bartering by just saying "this is the deal I want - which I know you can offer cos my friend got it...". Worked a treat... :)

No, both deals are 12 months.sorry if i didint make that clear!!

Oh right,I always asuumed that disconnections were the same people as retentions..

So you have - upgrades, then disconnections , then retentions?Do you feel I will a) get a better deal and b) get a call from the renentions now I have made it clear im willing to leave?

I tried to cancel say 4 months ago, or enquire about it, and started getting calls from them, so I do expect them. I have saved one of those deals below and am gonna quote them on that, saying I will accept that, nothing else.Altho I still feel 17.50 or 21.99 is very good considering I normally pay upwards of £35 per month.

Disconnections = retentions. Upgrades are generally a waste of time.

Anyone got a similar deal to mine?

£25/month with 15 mths half price.
    SE w980i + 4GB M2 Micro + Bluetooth headset + £50 refer a freind
    150mins + 500txts.

    Total cost £262.50 inc. phone.

Totally agree with you there about upgrades being a waste of time. However, disconnections is not the same as retentions. When you first phone up 191 to leave, the team you get put through to is inbound saves (disconnections). If you ignore their offer and request your PAC you soon get a call from outbound saves (retentions) and THEY are people with the most power. Don't accept a deal from anyone else.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. When I was talking about the two deals I meant the ones I linked in post #589 which are from (outbound) retentions and are a handy idea of what to expect.

If you have declined the first offer and asked for your PAC then you will start getting calls from 08080000133. That's the people you wanna speak to and they have the power to beat any tariff you've already been offered (and give you a much better handset that the Steel). Don't forget any deal they offer is valid for 24 hours so it doesn't hurt to end the call (with a view to calling back and renegotiating) and see if they improve it before you hang up.

    Hi

I was wondering if anyone has got a Nokia E66 from vodafone yet?

My Girlfriend is well out of contract and was mistakenly cut off by V/F earlier in the year because they had received a letter returned to them by the post office and not delivered so they thought she had done a runner..although her Direct debit etc was still workin  so she should be in a prime position for a decent upgrade.

Currently she pays a fortune something like £35 per month for 500 mins, 100 txt and stc.

She has called v/f to see what she can get and has been called by them also but they wont do anything like the deals people have got on here.

    She would like:

    Free E66 Nokia
monthly down to as low as possible (£12-£15)
    500 Mins or more
    100 or more txts
    free internet

obvioulsy the bt headset, free delivery and incar charger would be nice ;)

    is this pushing it?
  • I spoke to VF today and no Nokia E66s showing in stock. I'm getting frustrated having to wait so have requested PAC - let's see what they come back with.

  • Has anyone had any luck getting a deal on the Omnia? My 30-day cancellation period is up in a couple of weeks and the deals they have offered me so far haven't been that good. I don't think they'll phone again but I'd be tempted to call up if I thought I could get an Omnia out of them.
