I said I'd think about it but also asked for my PAC code in case I wanted to change networks. Are those offers any good? Should I hold out for better deals? Cheers for any advice.

wait. as you've asked for your PAC they will call you back at some point to offer deals. read the previous posts for the kind of offers people have been getting. I think you can get a better deal than you've been offered so far.

I talked about the N95 8GB, N78, E71 and C902. The best I was offered was the N78 or C902 on 250mins/100 texts for £20 a month - internet usage at £5 extra per month. On the E71 I'd be looking at £25 for the same minutes/texts.

I said I'd think about it but also asked for my PAC code in case I wanted to change networks. Are those offers any good? Should I hold out for better deals? Cheers for any advice.
Awful deal. Don't worry though - upgrades have the least power of any sales department. If fact they are not even worth speaking to. Retentions is where it's at! :)

Hello, my contract runs out the middle of October and I've already had a few missed calls from Voda. I currently have the 75 any network minutes and 150 texts. I pay #20 a month for this. I very rarely use this allowance, but would prefer a better deal for what I'm paying anyway. I like the Nokia 6210 because I like the GPS thing as we often go wandering or cycling. Any advice on this and what can I realistically ask for? Also what is a PAC code?

    This summarises PACs quite well:

Ask for one and retentions will start calling!

By the way, I had a 6210 for one day - horrible looking and feeling handset. The E66 does everything the 6210 does and has wi-fi though. Just my two penneth...
  • How do you get cashback on a contract exactly???
  • You get cashback when you go through specific sites offering cashback deals e.g. phones4u, carphonewarehouse, mobiles.co.uk, dialaphone etc...

You have to pay the set monthly tariff to the network provider (Vodafone, orange etc), and then supply your paper mobile phone bills to the cashback company at specific intervals (usually something like 6 months, 9 months, 10 months, 12 months) and they will send you a percentage of the promised cashback then.

They make their money by expecting a certain percentage of people to forget to claim, and by having strict terms and conditions on how and when you claim.

  • Hi All,

How do you get deals from other networks to barter with? I went into every mobile store today - all the specific networks, phones for u and car phone warehouse none could better or match my current contract and were not even prepared to try. They all said stick with vodaphone! The vodaphone salesman said he would go through upgrades rather than him. So now I don't know what to say to vodaphone when I ring up?

    Does anybody have any ideas?

I had a call from them today telling my contract is due for renewal. I said I was currently looking round for a better deal and to call me back in a few days. Now I just need to work out what I want.

Hi... Firstly, the high street is a complete waste of time. Only use it to check out handsets. Secondly, if you've asked for you're PAC then you won't have to ring anybody. The department with the most discount power (retentions) will be phoning you (from 08080000133). And then even when they make you a "final" offer you'll have 24 hours to mull it over. So you should be quite relaxed about everything.
  • Hi Gargoyle,

I am in the same boat, I roughly know what I want but don't know how to go about getting it without sounding like an idiot. I am not very good at blagging, and I couldn't find a better deal in any of the other network shops. (I am currently with vodaphone) £25 p.m 125mins 250 texts with friends and family, plus STC and rollover mins is my current contract.
