So, should I opt for 18 month?
Alot of network providers are moving to longer 18 month and even 24 month contracts. At the moment. if you want the N95 8Gb for free, you probably won't get it on a 12 month. Bear in mind the N96 comes out soon, so offers may be more generous on the N95 when it does.0 -
VF won't give me a 12 month retention deal for the N95 8gb. I really want this phone, considered the Tocco but can't decide.
ps. Slightly off topic here but personally I'm waiting till Thursday for Vodafone to get the Nokia E66. It does pretty much everything the N95 does but looks sooo much nicer and will be cheaper too. This review clinced it for me:

Same boat as me jimgee. I've held off upgrading until this comes out. Hoping to get it for free on a half price retention deal."Who throws a shoe, honestly?"

Just been on the phone to a nice lady at Vodafone. After writing to cancel my contract I have been offered either:
Nokia 6300 (not the newest but its the phone I want)
Anytime 300 (current contract)
free mobile internet
12 month contract
£17.50/month
Or the same deal on an 18 month contract for £15/month.
I said I'd do the deal if it was a 12 month contract @ £15 but there was no way she was budging on it, believe me I tried.
So, are either of those a good deal? They're valid for 24hrs so I've got a bit of time to mull it over or come up with a good argument for a better deal0 -
Seems like Voda are desperate to get customers, I just got a call today from vodafone, I missed a couple to be honest as I only got the contract because it was totally free after I sold the phone, but never used any of the 75 mins they actually give me every month (yes I only get 75mins for £20 a month! - no wonder I never use it! O2 is my main contract anyway).
Anyway I'm 6 months into this 75 mins per month contract, never ever been over my £20 per month - probably used about 15 mins in total over 6 months and they rang me today and offered me a 2nd line with this offer:
£12.50 per month for 15 months, £25 thereafter (i.e. months 15-18),
BRAND NEW SE W980i (the 8GB one)
4GB M2 Micro Memory card
Free bluetooth headset.
150mins and 500txts.
A decent deal I think! Sell the phone, memory card & bluetooth headset on ebay and the deal works out free!
Could not believe my ears!
I know I have got a better deal with O2 (600mins + 1000txts + Unlimited Weekends), but the deal with O2 is a cashback deal (CPW give me no problems).
But for vodafone to come out and offer me a deal like that with a phone like that, is just blooming brilliant! I could have also chosen the N78, U900 and practically ANY phone (except N95 8Gb).0 -
Hi all,
I have just joined the forum, and would like some advice about getting a good deal from vodafone.
I have been with voda for 10+ years and never had a decent deal from them ever, or a decent phone upgrade. I thought this time would be different, and I will be leaving Vodafone if I dont get a decent deal.
My 18 mth contract has now expired and I am now on a rolling contract, my bills are usually between £20-45, with no inclusive mins, or text, I would like to pay a monthly of £20, with a decent phone on a 12 mth contract.
I would be grateful for any advice on getting a good deal with a new phone and as many inclusive any time any network calls and text.
all advice would be gratefully received.
Kind Regards
Richard0 -
with that amount of time under yer belt / or even 1 year under ur belt u should get a good deal from them, phone them and give them the story that yer gunna pack yer bags and leav for another network and they might start to throw sum sweet stuff at u like reduced tariffs and stuff like that but as far as the handset is u could probably get anyone u wantBetter to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.0

Got offered a rubbish deal by retentions. Got 1 month and 3 days to go. I pay £40 for 700 mins, 250 text messges and unlimited landline mins. They offered my half price for 9 months without a phone on a 12 month contract. When I pointed out I could get better than that from an o2 sim only contract he simply agreed with me
so i asked for my pac code, and he said i had to pay for it! I said sure it lasts for 30 days so i can transfer out 3 days before the end of my contract. No, he said, you have to pay off the remaining balance to get the pac code if it's not in the last 30 days
When i pointed out that would surely take me over the end of the contract if I waited until I was in the last 30 days, and end up paying vodafone more, again he just agreed:mad::mad:
surely you can ask for a pac code any time and use it or lose it?
so much for good deals, upgrades offered the same deal!0 -
Well my contract ends on the 8th Sept. No decent offer at all. Had PAC through, but lost it so phoned up today. Woman asked y I was leaving, said I was thinking about trying O2. She never questioned it, just read the code to me and said bye. I'm getting worried I'm not gonna get a good deal. Should I phone then up or just keep waiting?0

Just rang up to get my pac code, stating I wanted to get a t-mobile cashback deal.
I have been paying £40 a month for 12 months (although I got all of it back in cashback)
I didn't even get offered a deal, just said my PAC code will be sent by post. He must have knowns I've given them nothing for 12 months.0
