SAMSUNG S6 holds a value of nearly £300 on ebay so that is worth £11/12 a month over 24m,, that then makes £11 plus a month for the contract deal without phone,
Put it in a spread sheet decide what your needs are
£11/£12 a month sounds good to me0 -
These contracts with unlimited everything are fine .......if you use them.
My other half only eats 300m from unlimited on a good month0 -
Been on Live chat tonight to confirm all the details of my new plan as want to check everything is now settled whilst I'm still within the 14 days cooling off spell.
Have taken screen shots of the conversation and my new deal is unlimited minutes and texts plus 5Gb data for £8.50 a month.
It's the Red £17 a month deal with 50% discount applied with an extra 3Gb of data.
Very happy with that deal - the discounts kept appearing!MoneySavingSham wrote: »...
Upon glancing this thread I saw the deal £8.50 for 5gb data and was amazed. I simply rang back this morning and advised that i'd like to go on the £8.50 deal that is currently 3gb data with 2gb for free and they did it there and then with no haggling no negotiating and no questions asked, didn't even ask where id heard of the deal or if another operator had offered me it.
Im super pleased but feel I should have now haggled as that was way to easy lol!
These £8.50 retention deals are very good! Just wondering what sort of plans you were on beforehand... sometimes retention deals like that are only available to what the company regards as more valuable customers (i.e. those who've spent more with that company in the past).0 -

I was surprised they went as low as £8.50 for me. I started about 5 years ago with Vodafone with an iPhone 4 which cost £37 a month on a 12 month contract, then moved to sim only at £21. Last year got them down to £13.20 and this year £8.50.
This years negotiations started with an offer of £11.90 PM then moved to £10.20pm then £8.50! I'll ring up a month before contracts up next year to get the deal again - I won't be pushing for less than £8.50 as that's a 50% discount.
My iPhone 6 will last quite a while - my iPhone 4 lasted 4 years. I now save up for and buy outright then add the Sim only deal.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

I too was looking for a better deal from VF - though partly for a business purpose. As part of that I was trying to find out the cheapest way that I might send a large number of reminder texts per month I was surprised - but not shocked, this is VodaFone after all, to find when I looked in some of their T&C documents that for domectis contracts like mine "Unlimited texts" *actually* in most cases seems to mean a maximum of 3000 per month. To quote the late great Douglas Adams, this must be some new use of the word "unlimited" that I was previously unaware of! I wonder why OFCOM hasn't acted on that one? Okay, you'd have to go some to send 3,000 texts in a month, but that's not the point, it's not unlimited.0

I went with their most expensive contract, £37 a month for 20GB, unlimted calls/text (including roaming) and 4gb EU data roaming a month - and spotify.
I don't need 20gb a month, but have come close to 4gb while roaming before and I travel very regularly.
This was offered to me at 10p shy of 50% off. I am paying £18.60 a month.
The thing that clinches the deal every year is the free Spotify.0 -

All networks have a fair usage policy when they say something is unlimited.0 -

I'm on the same deal as you were on, asked for my pad code but missed the call from retentions( was at work) I've tried through chat etc to get retentions to call back but no luck.
I've been offered the same deal as you but for £13.95 per month I'd like to get it down a bit more.
Any tips for getting retentions to call?0
