My contract ends on March 4th. Called to see what I'm likely to be offered and accepted 600 mins, ul text and 1gb data for £8 per month with 4 months free and a £40 credit. Very pleased!

I want to upgrade my phone to iPhone 6s, been with Vodafone 6+ years. Rang today and wasn't impressed with their offer so asked for my Pac. I was told they don't do that anymore instead I give them 30 days notice and at end they'll disconnect my line. I explained that I want to port my number but she insisted she couldn't give me a pac. She then gave me a better offer but for the iPhone 6 I said I'd think about and was told the offer was only for now.

Although I personally wouldn't recommend Vodafone due to my opinions on their customer service, their retention offers have been very good in my experience. I suggest getting their offer in writing and if you can use other provider offers as a negotiation point.


With the iPhone it's a standard that they are limited on what they can offer, but depending on how keen they are to keep you and what type of customer you are (high value) then they can always do better than what they tell you initially.

I was on the Live Chat yesterday to Vodafone looking to cancel as i had seen the following O2 deal on TechRadar:

iPhone 6S 64GB
£75 Up front cost (following a £100 off voucher)
Unlimited calls and texts
3GB data
£31 P/Month

After a lot of negotiating, i got the following:

iPhone 6S 64GB
£50 up front cost
Unlimited Minutes and texts
2gb data
£33.00 P/Month

Works out around £30 more but i dont have the faff of changing contracts, PAC codes etc

Being offered £15.30 for unlimited mins, unlimited texts and 6GB of data for 12 months and 6months of entertainment (SIM only) Was paying £16.50 before for the same deal except data was 3GB.

I want the entertainment as I want to use Netflix. Was hoping to get to pay between £10 and £12. Any chance of this?

Just upgraded my SIM only via live chat.

My old deal was unlimited txt/mins and 3GB data for £10.20

New deal is unlimited txt/mins and 4GB data for £8.50

As I'm out of sync with my contract end date (my contract ends in Apr but last year's retentions deal ends a month early, so it would have shot back up to £17 for the final month) I asked for some credit to be applied and they added £17.

I'll have the same issue next year as the new deal starts tomorrow, yet my contract will still end next April, so there'll be 6 weeks or so at 'full whack' if I were to leave Vodafone.

Pleased with the upgrade though. Would have gladly paid the £10.20 for another year,

That sounds good - I'm nearing the end of my 12 month SIM only deal which is £13.20 for unlimited text/mins & 3gb data - hoping for an even lower deal but I've got an iPad cellular now and want to see if they can offer a combined deal for both.
In store they looked & said I can get a free mifi box then use 1gb of my 3gb on the iPad but extra £5 so must get on live chat to ask them for offers.

Anyone got a direct number for retentions? I've been trying to get in touch with them as noticed my bills going up from £13.20 to £22 and I'm not having that! Know I can negotiate another deal or if not I'll leave as better Sim deals - currently unlimited minutes and texts and 3gb data plus I had 6 months Spotify. This does end in a couple of weeks so I need to sort a new 12 months deal or leave, don't need a new handset.
Can't find the link to live chat and when I use 191 option 1 option 3 I'm just on hold for ages.

If the deals right I'd stay as I've never had any problems but I just can't get through to them!
Live chat seems to have gone - I can't find the link anywhere and I've given up being on hold - it's retentions I need as I'm. It paying £22 now my 12 month deal of £13.20 is up in 2 weeks.
Can only try evenings and weekends with work.
