This is vodafone we're talking about, they don't care. They've disconnected me twice now by mistake, they're useless when you have an issue!

Hi all


I got the following 24 month deal through vodafone live chat:


Samsung Galaxy S6 32gb
Unlimited calls
Unlimited texts
8gb Data
Spotify Premium for 24 months
£35 per month (£28 per month after VEA applied)


I think it's a pretty good deal but am still in my 14 day cooling off period so am a bit undecided as to whether to send it back and try and upgrade to an iPhone 6 once the new was has been released? I doubt I'll get close to the above deal so I can do without Spotify and probably only need 2gb data, but I'd like the 64gb IPhone 6 ideally.


I rang up Voda last night to try and get an idea of the cost of upgrading to an iPhone 6 but they couldn't help me until I returned the S6 as my account shows I'm still in contract. The guy was pretty shocked at the deal above, he said they must have manually amended my price plan as on their website it's a £50 per month deal.


What are your thoughts?

just signed this deal after calling and requesting PAC code- got transferred to another agent who agreed this plan:

sim only 12 months:
unlimited minutes and text
4g internet- 8gb (6gb + 2 gb extra)
eurotraveller- free (inclusive min)call to 01,02,03 and 07 while abroad
12 months entertainment package

all for £13.50 a month- 50% discount

My contract is ending this month so I figured Id call up and see what deals I can get.
I wanted a Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and spoke to the chap in the upgrades team. He said he could do the following with the maximum 20% discount:
Unlimited Minutes
Unlimited Texts
8GB Data
24 Months Spotify/Entertainment package
£41 a month, I think its normally £59 a month.

The maths dont really work out there and i think he was getting jumbled up with the Edge and Edge Plus. I explained that I was currently getting a 30% discount which I got through retentions last time so he spoke to someone and said I would get a call from Retentions 10 minutes later who could offer more. Sadly they didn't call me back and so 3 hours later I called them again. I got through to the Loyalty team and a chap told me they cant discount the Edge Plus at all.
He is now checking the recording and will supposedly call me back within 72 hours (I wont hold my breath).
He also said they wont discount the Value packages that come with Spotify at all yet I have seen people on here getting discounts.

Not sure how to proceed really, I'm currently paying £25 a month or unlimited calls, texts and 1gb of Data. I was hoping to not have to spend much more than £35 month. I realise the Edge Plus is brand new, I dont mind getting the normal size one at all.

I havent officially asked for my PAC code yet, I assumed I was being put through to the same team who would call once I have requested it but perhaps Im wrong?

My other consideration is getting a sim only plan from vodafone and then buying the phone through GiffGaff on a pay monthly basis. They do the S6 Edge Plus for around £26 a month (you cancel the sim card after one month), if I can get a decent sim only plan from Vodafone for around £10-£15 a month then id be getting a decent deal.

Vodafone followed me up today and this is what I got:

£41.30 a month. Usual price is £59 a month.

I also nabbed a £10 credit when I asked if they could give me a wireless charger.

Incredibly happy and I didn't need to do nearly as much moaning and chasing up as I was expecting! Not sure if I could have done better, but I cant get this type of deal elsewhere.

My contract is coming to an end on the 16th of September. I rang on 16th of August for a retention deal. I was after the Samsung galaxy s6 Edge. I was offered a discount of £10 off the £49 tariff. I requested my PAC Code.


I got a few calls from the retention team but was unable to answer as I was at work. I called few days ago, and they offered me the galaxy Samsung s6 Edge 32gb for £33 a month. It is usually £45 a month. I turned down this offer.



I am looking to pay £32 a month for the 128gb or £30 a month for the 64gb. I only need about 500mins, 1000 text and 1gb of data. Am I being unrealistic?
