Vodafone Retention Deals

Hi
any advice how to proceed - I had a sim only deal on Vodafone offered to me which I was happy with. however, it was close to 8pm when they close so the guy must have been getting impatient. I was just typing a few questions when he decided I didn't reply quick enough and he ended the chat. no chance to say yes or no to the deal.
when I tried to speak again to another advisor by telephone they sent me my pac code ! to get to the retentions dept u need to ask for pac code first and she just gave it !
I got a call back next day after receiving pac but the lady asked me why I asked for pac, I said the usual - cos I found a cheaper deal elsewhere - she then said 'ok thanks for letting us know, I will update your records so no one contacts you again'. before I could say anything she hung up.
I am now trying to get the original deal which I would have accepted but wanted a few clarifications only - no-idea how to proceed. I have live chatted today but they would only offer the web prices and not the same price.
I don't understand how a customer can be offered an retention price, cut me off and then not reoffer it when I get back in touch.
any advice?0 -
Well getting your code doesn't mean anything, you will still dawdle along on your current deal. Just wait and see if anyone contacts you, but if you tell them you've got a better deal elsewhere then there isn't much point wasting their time if you're going elsewhere.0

I need some advice regarding my soon to expire Vodafone contract (8th December)
I can upgrade as of tomorrow. I currently get a 30% discount through my friend on all Vodafone contracts.
I was wondering if there is anyway i can get some form of loyalty bonus or freebie on top of this as I've been with Vodafone for 6 years.
Has anybody else managed to get a bonus on top of their discount?0 -

Was in exactly the same situation as yourself. Contract expiry on 7th Dec (or 8th?), but I opted to get my PAC early and leave.
Best bonus Vodafone could possibly have given me is my PAC code. Terrible network, awful customer services (if you can even call it that). Best move to another operator all the same.0 -
Thanks for the reply!
I'm yet to have a bad customer service experience with Voda, obviously it could be better but nothing particularly awful.
As i can only get a 30% discount at Vodafone i can't really shop around... I just wanted to see what else i could ask them to add in as a 'loyal' customer.0 -
Has anyone been able to get worldwide traveller included in their pack ? Many seem able to get Eurotraveller. Thanks.0

I asked for my PAC code yesterday . I am still waiting for it. My contract finishes on 25th October and I had a mysterious call from VF about two weeks ago telling me I can ask for my PAC anytime from 25th September. When I asked for my PAC yesterday I was informed if I use it before 25th October I would be charged £15.60 as I would be classed as getting out of my contact early. If I leave it until after 25th October then I have to pay for the following month in advance and can't move until that month is up! So either way I have to pay VF unless I go elsewhere exactly on 25th. I've been a VF customer for 17 years and this sounds like a wind up to me. Advice anyone please? I now need a new phone because OH accidentally dropped it today and it must have landed awkwardly because the screen is now smashed. Bl**dy typical!. Still it could be worse.0
