I wasn't sure if I should mention that. I dunno, could just tell...
This might sound wrong and I really don't mean to cause any offense, but with my short experience with vodafone, I've found the foreign (mostly Indian) salesman don't offer very good deals.

Yes, you can usually make an educated guess as to where the CS rep is based, but I doubt if they are in the UK, you could guess the colour of their skin based on their voice? I know loads of people who are born in the UK, but aren't "white" and oddly enough have broad Glaswegian accents, without an "ethnic twang"!

Like other's have been saying. I don't know how some people are getting these deals. My experience has been terrible i was speaking to the upgrades/retention people and all i was offered was a samsung galaxy s4 MINI for £29 a month!!!! 500mins/unlimited texts/1GB data. I told the saleswoman i would leave it. Think i am actually going to leave Vodafone, there must be better deals out there???

Don't understand that, on the Vodaphone site it says unlimited minutes for that price?

Hi Stevie that is what i was offered by the sales team! I told them originally i was interested in the full size S4 but was told that "we can't offer you the S4 for free on any contract, beacuse it is such a popular phone" Even though i mentioned that it was free on all the contract deals on the Vodafone website, the woman was just trying to push the mini "offer" on me constantly. Tomorrow i am going to actually cancel and look at what offers competitors are doing at the moment

    Thanks for your help Lee.

Unfortunately, all that was offered was what is already available on website - no retention deal.

Oh well. will have a look to see what's on offer this weekend.

    You're welcome adjests.

I'm sorry that we weren't able to offer you a package that you were happy with.

    Kind regards,

    Lee

    Hi llyamah,

Same question as above for you as well.

    Thank you

In response to this and also to the person who said they couldn't understand where people are getting the amazing deals from.

To cut a long story short, we were initially being made some very poor offers. We spent maybe the best part of half and hour haggling with the guy on the other end of the line, with my girlfriend asking him to hold whilst she discussed with me.

I had read that thy are usually willing to do a better deal if you purchased insurance. My girlfriend asked 'what can you do if we take out insurance' and the guy volunteered the offer that we got. He said he doesn't offer many deals like that, maybe two a month, but I'm not sure whether he was just flattering us.

Re the question about the discount not being applied to thd bill, we haven't been told anything like that. We will not be happy if thy start taking out £37 a month out of our account.

Thank you for the heads up. I have phone with virgin but never thought to try them for a contract, see that they can blow vodafone out the water with what they can offer and the free insurance is a bonus! I got the retentions teams phoning me back today/tomorrow, think it will be a brief call :)
  • Hi All. Trying to get a decent upgrade deal with Vodafone although contract officially runs out on 18th December. Retentions can't get anywhere close to the £23.50 deals mentioned on here-would anyone be willing to provide a confirmation e-mail for these? Vodafone have told me that they haven't heard of these deals before etc! Only half decent deal I can find is on their website using promo codes to reduce the monthly line rental-eg. HTC One Mini on the 4g service, unlimited mins, unlimited texts, 8gb data, 24 months free spotify or sky sports for £39 per month and 3 months half price line rental. Any advice re how to get closer to these £23.50 deals would be appreciated. Thanks.
