Vodafone Retention Deals

Rang today to give 30 days notice and get my PAC code still only offering £33 deal. What next ?
I hope you only asked for your PAC code? Next step is wait, they should phone as that's what I got offered, £33 per month, then £29 per month but asked for my 2 PAC codes. They then phoned next day. I got offered my above deal with Insurance, cost £32.0 -
I know its a big ask but can anyone that has got the £19 deal PM me their phone number that they got it on, Vodafone don't believe they would ever go that low. Don't worry if not, perfectly understand.
Asked for my PAC code this morning and call a call back at 4pm by retentions team. They said there was absolutely no way they could ever go as low as £19 even part charging for a Samsung Galaxy S4.
I have 2 phone lines with them + a business sim all due for renewal and they can't even come close to £19 on a 1GB contract let alone 2GB. However they said that if I could show someone else had that deal they would honor it for me as well - apparently they can check the price a number gets, and honestly I would delete it from my PM's as soon as Vodafone checked it and confirmed.0 -
Well I hope thelongtrousers someone helps you out. I was told when Lee phoned me that the deals people are stating on here aren't true. I don't believe he is completely telling the truth. I think VF say and do what they think when they think.
The deal joebob has posted is excellent. I wasn't even offered that for an S3. The most they offered me was 300 mins, u/l texts and 250gb. No chance of an S4 and an S3 wouldn't be free either. The cheapest they would give was £25 a month. Needless to say I declined their offer. They NEVER rang me when I asked for my PAC code. I rang them in the end when I was totally out of contract. After 15 years I feel if most of the people have been given these deals and I don't doubt them totally then my loyalty with VF all these years was stupid. I do hope you get your offer.0 -
Hi Lara,
Thanks, I've been with them for 15 years as well, give or take. Throughout the coversation today they kept telling me how important loyal customers were!!!!
When they rang I gave them a list of prices that I had seen on various websites and from other providers - the cheapest I found was around the £22 mark. The they eventually said that she could probably get it for around this but couldn't get any lower (still a good deal imo). However, it kind of shows them up really, the first person I spoke to yesterday stated they were not allowed by Samsung to drop their contract prices - seriously I almost laughed out loud. He said they couldn't in any circumstances get lower than £33!!! (for the 1GB contract).
Then today the retentions team firstly said the lowest they could do was £28 a month for 2GB contract. When I mentioned the £19 they said it was impossible. I then mentioned various other deals I had seen and they said they could probably get close to them. Sounds to me like they are full of BS. Probably have a quota they are allowed to offer cheap prices to every month, as it gets good advertising particularly word of mouth.0 -

Regards your offer - same thing happened to me 3 years ago when I last renewed, the lowest I was offered was £25 on a HTC Desire (brand new at time it had been out less than a month). I waited the 30 days and then reordered my PAC code, this time they came back with £20.50. So you could always try that if you you are happy with your current contract price and can wait a month. I will do it again this time if can't get anything sorted, don't know if it will make any difference but can afford to wait.0 -

Thanks but I ordered my PAC again and still they never contacted me and when I sent Lee a message he then rang me. I'm on a sim only deal now. Sorted by myself because VF are pretty useless - IMHO!0 -

I never asked for a PAC code, just gave them my 30 days notice. I'll request a PAC at the weekend then. Don't really have the time through the week.0 -
thewrongtrousers - to get a good deal you need to be a customer they want to keep, it's not a case of speaking to a rep that someone else got a good deal from.
how long you have been with VF doesn't come in to it either, you need to be spending over your tariff basic plan cost every month, that's what makes them profit.
if you don't make them profit, they couldn't give two hoots if you leave.0 -
Ok a quick update - apologies for the length but the details may help some:
Got another call on the other phone last night about 20mins after I last posted. Was told they could do 2GB deal on both phones at £24 but they can't go any lower - I said I'd think about it.
This morning I got another call on the other line and was told the same again - no way they can go lower on both of the lines. I was told that the £19 deal must either be through a third party or via cashback redemption as it would be breaking their terms of agreement with Samsung and various other policies and would be against the law!!! (Ha Ha Ha). I asked them to check and was on hold for a minute or so. When they came back on and said because I have 2 lines they could get around it by doing one on the 'House Plan' at 50% off the 2GB plan (not off their webprices but off the normal price of £42 - no idea where to even find these). So one phone at £21.75 (which is actually 25p less than half price!!!) and the other at £24 (quite possibly a random figure picked out of the air). After being told that was the final price I said that I would just leave as it was cheaper elsewhere and reiterated others had got a better deal and that I wanted 50% off the £38 web price on both phones. Again I was told this was impossible as it would be breaking their own polices but was again put on hold. This time they came back with "due to your loyalty on one of your lines" (10+ years) and the other being a 'house plan' I have been authorised that I can do both lines for 50% off (£21.75), however if you pay £35 a phone you can reduce this £19. Feeling this was the best I was going to get I accepted as it still works out at about £20 a phone per month - I just need to remember to upgrade quickly next time as the £19 a month is only valid for 24 months.
If anyone needs help please PM me - I don't often post on MSE (more of a lurker) but will check regularly for the next week or so.0
