Vodafone Retention Deals

Called this morning to get my PAC code and just received a call from retentions offering me:-
12 month SIM only
900 minutes
Unlimited Texts
500MB data
for £10.40 per month.
I told them I would only consider a deal with at least 1GB of data, which he said would bring the price up to £13.40.
Declined the offer just now as T Mobile work out cheaper after cash back for 1000 minutes and 3GB data.0 -

I can't believe this, my contract is due to expire on the 17/08/2013
I rang up to ask about upgrade offers after reading this thread and all i'm offered is a new customer deal same as the website and they will waive off the handset cost and get a free phone for £37 a month!
I've been paying £36+ for the past 2 years now nearly surely they can do better than that?
If there's an official vodafone representative please get in touch with me otherwise I'm happy to go elsewhere.0 -

Mine expires on 6th August but I haven't contacted them yet. Will do it next week . Possibly you have contacted them too early as you have over a month to go before expiry date??0 -

you need to wait until you are in your final month, as you can't actually leave until then, so they have no incentive to offer you anything to stay0 -
Just ask for your PAC. They will then make a second offer (as before this will be the "best they can do"). Don't accept it, just get your PAC and wait for the call. They might make you a good offer or they might not but irritatingly it's the only way to get to the true "best offer"0

Hi dhil1on,
To enable us to take a look at your options could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?
All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it'll take you to the Contact us form on our website. To make sure it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line?
Once sent you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. Could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?
Kind regards,
Lee

I'm considering various options now. My VF coverage has been very poor at times over the past 18 months. I received a text sent 9.28am yesterday morning at 3.30pm, which is happening quite a lot. Hence I am now thinking of shifting to 02. They are offering the same deals as VF, their coverage here appears to be excellent too. However I am also contemplating buying a mobile from eBay and getting a SIM only deal somewhere. Has anyone else done this ?0

Funny - I was just thinking the same. VF service has deteriorated massively for me and I'm regretting renewing now. Dropped calls and woeful data speeds/"false" 3G readings compared to last renewal.
My OH is due to renew too but I think I'm going to look elsewhere for her. Post back with your deal Lara!0 -
Hi t3d - I have spoken to VF this afternoon requesting my PAC code. I had previously been told I could upgrade on 6th August but looking at my account it says 9th August. Very strange.
Anyway the person I spoke said coverage was excellent all over UK and he couldn't understand why I was saying poor coverage at times. He was very pleasant and eventually gave me my PAC code and said to use it after 9th August and before 13th August! If I use before 9th August I would be charged as leaving my contract early and if I don't use it by 13th August I would have to wait and give another 30 days notice. He didn't attempt to give me a new contract.
Looking at the site they say upgrade your current contract to get one the same as new customers! I'd want one better than a new customer!0
