Lee, Can you clarify something for me?

I visited the Vodafone shop in Belfast on Saturday and was talking to one of your sales advisors about roaming in Ireland. He mentioned a package you do specifically for Ireland – Ireland Plus.

If I picked him up correctly he said that Vodafone had, for an upfront fee of £10 a month, a plan which allowed users in the north of Ireland to wonder freely back and forward into the Republic of Ireland without been charged a roaming fee everytime their phones picked up a signal from the Irish Republic. Calls, texts and data would all be charged as if they were coming from within the UK

Have I understood you sales assistant correctly?

If I have understood him correctly he also added that the deal had to be done at a Vodafone store in northern Ireland as it was specific to this part of the UK.

Can you give me more information about the deal? Must I buy instore or can I buy by phone as I would other bolt ons? My closest Vodafone shop is some distance away. Is it per calander month or is it from say the 12 July to 11 August?

I’m sure many of your customers in northern Ireland will find this informative

I've had to send my phone back as the finish on it was shocking; sharp edges, gaps and glue on the side panel. I received a replacement phone which is also being returned.

I requested to cancel the contract as it was within 7 days. I was told that an envelope would be sent out to me and when it was returned to them the contract would be cancelled. I'm still waiting for this envelope which I requested on Wednesday.

Where does this leave me now? Will I be put back on my original price plan and have to request my pac code in order to renegotiate a deal? The phone is brilliant but I'm not prepared to accept a £500 phone that has been finished so poorly.

The returns process is extremely poor. It has been known to take weeks to get it processed and the account reset. You wont need to do all that again as the deals been quoted, inbound retentions will be able to honour it then

Of course we have a discount - that's the whole point of a retentions deal.

    I have on a Sim Only deal;

    600 minutes
    Unlimited texts
    1.5gb mobile data ( 500mb + 1Gb added on free)
Free Vodafone Sure Signal (normal cost £100)

    for £10.25p/Month

Have dealt with a lot of bad (and good) Voda customer service over the years, but call I made today really takes the biscuit.

Rang to ask for my PAC as inevitably the deal they offered me the other day for an upgrade was no better than a new customer.

Noisy call centre. Woman asked for my name, a hundred security questions (fine with that), then asked me what my name was again. Set the tone for the call really.

    1. She suggested going with a third party retailer for a deal was akin to getting your phone off a drug dealer (I'm liberally paraphrasing there of course)

    2. Said I wouldn't be able to keep my number if I left Vodafone. I said of course I would and so she soon forgot about going down that avenue of nonsense.

    3. Said because I was ordering my PAC she would have to disconnect my line there and then!

God forbid she ever gets hold of someone vulnerable/someone who doesn't know the system and how it all works.

Anyway, hopefully will get a call from retentions.

Would be grateful to hear people's recent S4 deals. I'm looking for a GB of data under £30 plus free phone. Realistic? Also do retentions do 18 month deals anymore, or is that all over now?

We should all make a point of asking for names if we come across those types of folk - no harm in the moneysavers looking out for the vulnerable...

I'm back in the game for my other half now! I wonder if they will offer her a better deal than me...

    Well they certainly work quickly...

Just got a call, spent about 10m on the phone going through different packages.

He's calling me back tomorrow but think I'll probably go with the following deal:

    Free Galaxy S4 | Unlimited Calls + Texts | 2GB data | £29.40 a month (from £42)

Tried to get them lower and asked for free 08 numbers, but he said just couldn't do it. So is this a good deal based on what other people have been offered? Seems ok to me.

Out of interest he said that max discount he could do was 20%, needed a manager to get the 30% he gave me...to the point that we never did the deal in the end because the manager had left. True or not, that's what he said.

Also can I get the vodafone vea 20% discount on top of this? He said I wouldn't be able to, but I thought some people have said you could?
