It is better to find a deal that you can use as the reason you are leaving vodafone.

I found a deal 12 months ago for the S3 through dialaphone for £21 a month.
    retentions offered to better it.
So I accepted a free S3, unlimited text, unlimited calls and 2gb data for £21 x 24 months
Just make sure you are asking for a deal that is real ..regardless of whether you really intend to take it or not.
  • I've been stalking this page for a few days and thought i might as well tell you what i managed to get off Vodafone.

I asked for my Pac Code they rang me back the next day. I got cut off so i rang them back they put me through to retention's. I don't know if it was inbound or outbound.

Managed to get the £33 for 24 months package for £27 with a samsung galaxy s4, 600 mins, unlimited text and 500mb.

I don't care about unlimited minutes or ridiculous amounts of data with wifi, skype, viber, whatsapp etc do you really need unlimited minutes. Also the package comes with 1gb BT openzone allowance which is handy as it appears i live in city where BT openzone is constantly trying to infiltrate my phone.

I'm looking at one of your unlimited deals. Can you tell me what do you actually mean by 'unlimited calls?'

    Hi The Horse Lady,

It's means you can make as many calls to standard UK landlines and mobiles as you need to and you won't incur any extra charges.

    Thanks,

So I got the outbound call back today and was told that the SIMO unlimited tariff couldn’t be discounted any more than £15.50 (despite saying that I could do better by hopping onto a 3 deal and then back to a Vodafone unlimited deal with cashback). The outbound guy was decent and said he’d offer me whatever he could, but they couldn’t do that.

However, he did add unlimited Vodafone to Vodafone minutes (capped at 3000) to my existing plan for free, which clinched it as the wife is on Voda. I’ve passed on the international texts and MMS coz I mostly use Whatsapp or email anyway for pictures or international.

    So the deal is (SIMO)

    600 minutes
    3000 texts
    1GB Data
    1GB BT Openzone Wifi
    Unlimited Vodafone to Vodafone Calls
    £10.25 per month

I'm relatively happy with that. I could have done a bit better by switching (take note uber-money savers!) but I'm ok with what I've got in the end.

Well my two Galaxy s4's arrived this morning, they are on the charge at the moment and after speaking with my insurance brooker I discovered that loss, breakage and accidental damage to the phone would be covered by my home insurance. So I rang up and cancelled the insurance which I'd taken out with Vodafone with absoloutly no bother the Vodafone advisor couldn't have been more helpfu.

That means now, of cours, that my original bill of £35.20 has now been effectively reduced to £25.20 per month 20p more than I was aiming for and that gives me unlimited calls, unlimited texts, and 2gb of data.

With unlimited calls I can now almost abandon my landline all I'll really need it for is my internet connection and making international calls.

Here is my advice. When you call Vodafone, or they call you, to renew your contract, you tell them what you want. In my own case it was a Galaxy s4, unlimited calls, texts, and I wasn't unduely worried about data.

Vodafones original offer was £33.00 per month. After I asked for my pac code retention rang me back and put two offers to me, neither one of which was much better than the original offer.

It was only when I suggested taking out insurance that they became interested in dealing. They'd offer me the phone on a 24 month contract at £25.20 per month plus £10.00 per month of insurance. They gave me what I wanted re calls and texts and 2gb of data.

When I discovered, of course, that I didn't need, or want the insurance and cancelled it within 7 days my bill was effectively reduced to £25.20 month

Take from that what you will. It is how I delt.

ok to give you an update ? got my call from vodafone they are not budging on 32.90 over 24 months for s4.
Federer, I'd still play hardball. Maybe your difficulty is that you've still got sometime to go on your contract so they are under no pressure to deal.

Leave it until very near the end of your contract, then request you puk code, when they come back to you tell them what you want, be percise that way they know you are serious.

Whatever the offer don't reject there and then, get them to call back the following day, have all your maths done, then tell them it is a bad deal, that it comes nowhere near what you are looking.

Start a conversation about insurance; let them 'sell' it to you. ('What's the advantage of taking out Vodafone insurance bla, bla, bla') Agree with them. Then ask them to put insurance into the mix to see if they can come up with a better offer. I'd be surprised if they didn't.

It's a reasonable guess that if you wait the month you'll be speaking to a diffirent advisor and he might be more prepared to deal. Remember what VodafoneInsider said ring at the beginning of the month.

Keep trying, I did and got the deal I wanted.

how many times will retentions try to call you ? I keep missing the call and 3 days until my contract is up.
  • Hi. I've been monitoring this forum before upgrading. I made contact through Vodafone's online forum. I spoke to one of the team. They advised that unlike normal customer services they're not paid commission. Who this nonsense about getting insurance then cancelling it doesn't apply. They were extremely helpful and found a package to suit my needs over the life of my contract. It turns out there aren't any packages available with 600 minutes that give you 1gb of data. Check online it's true. Turns out anyone who says they've got 1gb of Internet for anything less than 30 quid must have a discount. Make sure You check your first bill as you're probably in for a surprise. I also mentioned Vodafone insider. They don't know how he/she is and he/she is free to give his/her views. To surmise, very pleased with my deal, very happy to commit to Voda
