The deal I got is as follows:

    htc one
    unlimited calls
    unlimited texts
1gb data (3 month unlimited test drive)
£27.75 per month. 24 month contract.

It took a few 'words with the manager' from the advisor to get this deal.

I’m currently on a SIMO £20.50 tariff discounted to £10.25 (600mins, unltd texts and 500mb data) but due an upgrade. I also currently pay £5 for 2 extras, 100 MMS and another 500mb data.

I’m after the same level of discount on an upgrade to the SIMO unlimited plan, i.e. £20.50 down to £10.25, with a free extra bundle if possible, such as international texts.

Having waited to the start of the month and spoken to upgrades, they tell me that:
    a) they are the only retentions team, there is no other so there’s no point requesting my PAC; and
    b) they cannot discount at SIMO plan and my deal last year was a promotional deal.

I suggested that I could leave, get a 1 month SIMO plan with someone else, then come back to Vodafone and get £130 cashback on a new £20.50 plan (i.e. £9.60 per month!), but they just told me that it wouldn’t be worth the hassle to do that!

Should I just request my PAC and wait for someone to call that can actually offer me something other than what’s on their website? (VodafoneInsider - am I being realistic about what I want?)

No comment from VodafoneInsider (maybe there's been a word had internally!) so I'm going to follow the advice given earlier in this thread and request my PAC. Even if they don't try to keep me, I can get a one month deal from 3 and get a net profit (cashback is more than the cost!) then move on to a new deal. I will report back!

Update: called 191, went straight in and asked for PAC. Had the usual conversation about my historic usage (irrelevant as my usage is increasing due to new job) but this time the magic PAC word got me input from the manager.

The spiel now is as follows: "Because you had it before, we will give you a 50% discount on the plan you currently have and an extra 500mb for £3. We cant give you a 50% discount on the unlimited plan" (why not?! I'd be spending the same amount each month!!) "but because your friend works for a company on our special list (no proof needed) we can offer you a 20% discount on the plan you want."

So I said no and asked for my PAC. I'd like the unlimited plan and a free extras bundle for £10.25. Let's see if I get it.

PS: The 3 deal is via quidco. £33.33 cashback for the one plan SIMO 1 month (costs £25 so £8.33 profit). Good if you want to leave and come back as a new customer. Cashback on £20.50 SIMO tariffs from Vodafone was £150 a few weeks back and now £130 but not for long (altho they change often)

interesting you got a 25% discount on the normal tariff plus avoided the 69 pounds handset fee. I was offered 30% off the red XL plan however there were not budging more than that. it just didnt seem they needed to or were desperate for the deals. they said theyre over target. My adviser did go and ask him manager for more than 30percent but answer was no

    Currently on with Voda:

    600 mins
    Unlim Texts
500mb of data with HTC sensation for ~£37 per month.

Contract is ending in August, my HTC is dying literally struggles to stay powered on and has a crack in the screen so I do need a new phone. I would like as much data as I can get, I know I can get Unlim with T-Mobile and 3 however had terrible service with T-Mobile in the past and the fact 3 does not have a 2g network worries me..

My question is what can I expect here? I'm pretty set on the Galaxy S4 with as much data as possible, the texts and calls are negligible to me.

Also I can get a 20% discount through my work as they have a deal with vodafone, is this better than anything I will be offered, can I get both a discount from rententions and this?

Thanks in advance for any help! :)
    Looking for good deals! :)
