I'm posting this about 2.00pm and am surprised Vodafone haven't called. They said they would between quarter past and half past twelve. Sister took an early lunch to facilitate the call.

VodafoneInsider said you'd know the call was from retentions if you answered and there was some silence and then someone was there. I think this is a sign of an auto dialler, so maybe they can't guarantee a time to call back.

I think we should be careful asking too much info from VodafoneInsider. Vodafone obviously know about him as they say stuff on this thread, there's a risk they'll change everything if we know too much!

Received my call from Vodafone this afternoon. After a lot of fluffing around he wouldn't do anywhere near £25. I then asked about insurance and that took him down to £25.20

Here is the bit that confuses me. The insurance is £10 mth approx. I can cancel within 7 days BUT he was saying something about three months coverage. I didn't want to press him on it as he might have tumbled to what I was at. Buy insurance then cancel.

But does that mean that if I sign up to the insurance that I MUST KEEP the cover for 3 mts.

Really need a quick answer for this question he is calling back at 5.30 help me out here guys.

I can't see how they could force it without you paying the £30 first

Seems to be correct. I've taken this from Vodafone website:
    1. Rights of Cancellation

The Company or the Customer may cancel this policy by giving 30 days written notice to each other. The Customer should contact Vodafone on 191 from a Vodafone mobile or 08700 700 191* from any other phone. The Customer will not be provided with a refund of premium for the period the policy was valid prior to such a cancellation.
The Customer also has a statutory right to cancel this policy which extends for 7 days from the later of:
      (a) The day the Customer is informed that the policy has commenced and
      (b) The day on which the Customer receives the full terms and conditions of the policy.
On receipt of the notice the Customer shall receive a refund of any premiums already paid unless the Company has already been notified of a claim.
    1. And this from the Which? Online website
If you do buy mobile insurance, by law the seller must send you a policy summary setting out the key points in the cover and a 'statement of demands and needs' to show why you were recommended the insurance in the first place.
If you take out mobile phone insurance and then decide you don't want it, you have a 14-day 'cooling-off' period, starting from the day you purchased it, during which you can cancel the policy and get your premium refunded in full.
So yes it seems like I can get the phones for £25.20 a month - must try for the sure signal just to see. Will give a detailed account tomorrow of the deal, hopefully it will help others.

No. In fact I'm not sure what that means :o I didn't want to ask to many questions around the insurance issue in case he tumbled to what I was going to do.

    What does it mean.
