Vodafone insider, a couple of quick questions. My previous outbound Retentials deal is an S3 but 18 months deals which is much better than a 24 month one. 18 months comes round much quicker. Do you still do 18 month retention deals on S4 or htc one black.

A previous post suggested you do better deals on the HTC one than the S4. im leaning towards the HTC black because of build qualiy and going fro 50% off on the red plan unlimited on 18 months with 08 numbers. Would you do this deal without hesitation. Im gonna ask for my PAC Code on Thursday. Its still the start of the month which is good, my 70 days upgrade starts this saturday.

    The Chase Is On :D

Had a call this afternoon from a Vodafone rep regarding my upgrade so I told her what I wanted a Galaxy 4, unlimited calls, unlimited texts, and I'd accept insurance. Told them £25 was my limit.

Of course she couldn't do it. £33 was the best she could offer. So requested my PAC code

Now I wait for retention to call and hopefully they'll settle for £25.

Any further tips Vodafone insider? And of course many thanks for all the advice you have offer Moneysaving members.

OK so the chase is really and truly on.

Retention called to day and because I was such a good customer and paid all my bills promptly they wanted to see what they could do to keep my business. How considerate of them :rotfl:

So I told her. Galaxy 4: unlimited mins, unlimited text, and I wasn’t that worried about data, one gb. two gb. it really was not a major issue with me and I wanted all for £25 month

Of course they couldn’t do that, the phone was to expensive but again because I was such a loyal customer what she could do was one of two things:

Option 1. For a free phone £32.90 month unlimited calls and texts + 2gb data (£789) her maths. Come to think of it the ordinary sales team offered me it at £33.00 month

Option 2. £85 up front, £26.00 month again unlimited calls and texts though this time with 4GB data. (£709) She told me that even though she understood I didn't want or need the data that was the way the package was set up.

There was no mention of insurance.

As I was upgrading two phones I put her off until 3.30 this Friday told her I’d have to talk it over with the other party.

So is this a legit offer from which she won’t shift or is it just her opening bid. How do I get her down some more. Just say No and hope she improves her offer.

I'm going into detail here because I can give a blow by blow account of what I'm doing and what Vodafone are doing and hopefully members of the board can learn from what I'm doing - right and wrong - and see a deal worked through from beginning to end.

Tell me what to do next VodafoneInsider.

I’m currently on a SIMO £20.50 tariff discounted to £10.25 (600mins, unltd texts and 500mb data) but due an upgrade. I also currently pay £5 for 2 extras, 100 MMS and another 500mb data.

I’m after the same level of discount on an upgrade to the SIMO unlimited plan, i.e. £20.50 down to £10.25, with a free extra bundle if possible, such as international texts.

Having waited to the start of the month and spoken to upgrades, they tell me that:
    a) they are the only retentions team, there is no other so there’s no point requesting my PAC; and
    b) they cannot discount at SIMO plan and my deal last year was a promotional deal.

I suggested that I could leave, get a 1 month SIMO plan with someone else, then come back to Vodafone and get £130 cashback on a new £20.50 plan (i.e. £9.60 per month!), but they just told me that it wouldn’t be worth the hassle to do that!

Should I just request my PAC and wait for someone to call that can actually offer me something other than what’s on their website? (VodafoneInsider - am I being realistic about what I want?)

Hi, I'm in the same boat as Kah22, I got PAC on Saturday, taken one call from them, it wasn't an awful offer, but it wasn't a "bite your hand off" offer either.

    Offer 1 - free s4, unltd mins/text and 1gb £33, REJECTED
    Offer 2 - free s4, 500mins, unltd text, 500mb £29, REJECTED

I have an S2 with the offer 2 tariff but for £28, it was my first upgrade, and the phone was just out so I was v happy with that deal.

This time I've pretty much tried everything, called upgrades 3, 4 times(just caused problems) tweeted them(got offered option 2 above) and now its PAC code route.

In December I got a brand new phone, S3, decent tariff, 600 mins, unltd text and 1gb, plus a signal booster for free all for £28 a month, which was a 2 month early upgrade plus saving of £10 a month from previous contract. And that was with ONE phone call!!!

I need 200 mins, unltd text and at least a gb of data, free s4 and mms thrown in, I don't think it is unreasonable to want that for £25 p/m.

Fingers crossed I'll keep you all posted.

    EDIT: fat finger correction s4/s3

it really does seem it depends on the adviser on the phone to me. they offered me and S3 3 months after it came out on 18 months 23 pound a month and 1gb data and unlimited texts and 900 mins. it seems it depends on the revenue ratios and the mood of the adviser
