Let’s say I was looking the iPhone 5 32GB, unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 4 GB. Vodafone’s website advertise it at £52 month with the handset costing £19. With a bit of haggling with Retentions what could I get that for £25 - £30 month with a free handset. Or is that been to optimistic?
Or say I was to ask for the Samsung Galaxy S4 again the site advertises it at 24 months, Unltd minutes, Unltd texts , 1 GB mobile internet data for £37 month again would I be asking to much if I were to look it at say £20 month.
I’ve heardsomewhere that with all the bits and pieces that Samsung has added to theGalaxy that the standard memory that comes with the phone may prove insufficient. Am I correct and what should I look for if I were to be offered one at £20 month. Would I be pushing the boat out to far if I were to ask for 2GB data.
Forgive me if what I've said seems pie in the sky but from what I’m reading here on the board Vodafone retention have a very big scope when dealing with retentions.
Then again maybe I’m been like Vodafoneto - GREEDY!!
Iphone 32GB. Go for £25 Liner Rental plus £13 Iphone Insurance (cancel next day). Phone will be free.
S4 - Aim for £25 plus £10 for Insurance (again cancel insurance next day)
I would do these deals without hesitation. Depends on the adviser. If they can get you to pay £52 and full price for the phone they would. Remember we DO NOT have your best interests at heart, thats the honest truth, it's a numbers game. So haggle.0 -

The question is as I live in Northern Ireland and find myself frequently roaming into Vodafone Ireland's air space, even though I'm still in the UK, would it be to much to ask for roaming time to cover for that roaming? How many minutes?0 -

VodafoneInsider - never been asked before to take out insurance. Is this normal practice now? If they ask and you say yes are they more likely to give you a better deal?
I can upgrade early now but going away next week so will leave until I get back. I'd like a Samsung Galaxy 3 and pay no more than £20 a month - what I'm paying now. If they want me to have an S4 I wouldn't argue. 300 mins, text and 500mg - not greedy but should I be?!0 -

I hope to renew this week coming but I'm hoping for a Galaxy 4 with unlimited calls and texts like VodafoneInsider suggests. It's a little bit more than I would like to pay but it will cut down on my fixed line bills. If I were offered the Galaxy 3 for £20 with unlimited calls and texts, I would go for that. The latest gadget is not my biggest concern.0 -
That's right we are greedy. If Vodafone could get away with it, we would not hesitate taking away every penny to your name. So be the same.
We mostly employee morons so you probably wouldnt be usually asked for extras. You lead the call. Just say I want x amd y and want to pay z for 24 months.
We have when required done an s3 for about 15 quid and that's without insurance.
If doesn't matter the slightest how many minutes texts and data we give you as any tariff can be discounted upto 50%. It's all about the revenue. So if the advisor wants minimum 21 a month of you, he can use any tariff upto a value of 42. He will normally give you a !!!! one that way he can negotiate up on tariff rather than reduce price.
As to roaming, there's no roaming package per say. There's euro traveler that may help cap charges but !!!! for light users, or you can ask for so,e international minutes added on free when calling across border. If I remember correctly O2 don't charge cross border. You may find it cheaper for yourself switching. Vodafone will never make it free, too many easy people to fleece0 -
Quick question. If you send or receive an email while roaming does that entail extra charges or is it just regarded as part of your Data allowance?0

Hi ChrisInLondon,
Thanks for coming back to me.
I can see that my colleague Jenny replied yesterday.
As I've now corresponded your email with your post I'll give you a call later today.Quick question. If you send or receive an email while roaming does that entail extra charges or is it just regarded as part of your Data allowance?
Hi kah22,
The charges will depend on where you travel to.
Within our Europe zone you'll be able to opt into Vodafone EuroTraveller where for only £3.00 per day you'll be able to use your UK price plan.
Within the Rest of the world zone you can opt into Vodafone Data Traveller where you'll pay £5.00 for 25MB every day you use data.
If you need more you'll be charged £3.00 per MB for upto 15MB and then £15.00 for every additional 5MB.
You can see more information on our roaming rates via our website. Unfortunately, I'm unable to provide you with a link to it due to the posting guidelines which company representatives are required to follow.
Kind regards,
Lee

Has anyone asked Vodafone to match a CarphoneWarehouse upgrade deal? I'm looking at a cheap end smartphone (Nokia Lumia 620 probably) and CPW want £17 a month for a contract with 250MB data but Vodafone direct looks like it'll be £21.
Or since I'm staying with Vodafone either way will they not do any match?
I don't mind using CPW if I need to but would prefer to do direct if possible to limit potential issues.0
