I hope so, I left it open, I was polite and friendly on the phone, I let them know that I was looking for the best deal possible. I didn't have a deal to hand to compare them to, as I haven't actually seen a killer deal. I've seen a few, at different times, for the HTC One(the other phone I quite fancy, but nothing for the S4

try hukd, there are always HTC one deals going on, but a lot are cash back deals and redemption deals, but the effective costs are down in the low £20s

I really don't want to go down redemption/cash back route, I'd rather just deal with Vodafone direct, but if they don't want my money I'll happily go back to O2 or try Three.

VodafoneInsider we really do need you to come in on this discussion. In the meantime let's try and tie these deals down a bit. My two offers from Vodafone retention are:
Option 1. Free phone, £32.90 month, unlimited calls and texts + 2gb data (£789)
Option 2. £85 up front, £26.00 month, unlimited calls and texts with 4GB data.

Share your offers, with any network, that way we should have a pretty good idea of what is going on out there.

Option 2 sounds decent apart from the £85 upfront(which is an extra £3.54 p/m = £29.54p/m
