Just a note of the deal I just upgraded to.

Existing contract was 900/ul/500 mb @ 20.50 sim only 12-month.

Offered S3, 600/ul/500 @ 29. Said I could get it @ 21 (via a reseller on T Mobile). Immediately offered £25, I said £23. Quick hold and she came back "ok".

I then noted that the TMobile deal was ul mb (and I have been over 500 from time to time). So it was changed to:-

    ul minutes,
    ul texts,
1000 mb (ul for 3 months)

    For 33, less a 10 discount for a net £23.

No idea if it was the best deal I could have got but it suits me and seems fair enough.

Also happy with the service and the lack of messing about (last time I did this with Orange it was to and fro for weeks).

QUOTE=Wozski;60792883]My contract expires the start of june and i have come off the phone from vodafone CS dept.
Id like to say what truly a rude peson i spoke to.
I am currently on a very good deal after going through the retentions dept 2 years ago.
I rang up saying i wanted the same deal but with the new phone - HTC one.
Due to my current price plan he laughed off me having the same deal with this new phone as the handset was in excess of £500.
I said 2 years ago my handset was the same price and had just been released ( HTC Sensation ). He then had the nerve to say it was worth £200 2 years ago.

Vodafone - The customer is always right

Can someone from Vodafone contact me please to conclude this
    Thanks[/QUOTE]

Had the "call" from retentions yesterday.
Been offered HTC one ( M7)
Unlimited calls and texts and 1 gig of data =£22 per month.

    Note to vodafone
Why do we have waste our time in going through this process every time our contract comes up for renewal?
Why cant you just reward the loyal customers rather than go through this merry go round?

Exactly. The management needs to look at this mess of system. Its been almost a month I am trying to get a new deal. But I know for a fact that I will only get offered anything good after I give my notice. Its the same bloody practice every year.

    Well I'm livid.......
I'm now out of contract and I had a call from Vodafone offering to save me £5 a month on my current contract and told me how much it would cost to upgrade my phone (a lot!!)
    Said I'd think about it.......
I've just been online to see what a NEW Vodafone customer can get out there and not only is the tariff MUCH cheaper but I could get a FREE phone (a brand new model!) as well.
How is this even possible when the deal isn't even directly through Vodafone but a third party?! I would expect Vodafone to give their direct and existing customers the best deals?? So cross!
"Buy me, Lady", said the frock, "and I will make you into a BEAUTIFUL & WHOLE & COMPLETE human being".
"Do not be silly", said the Man, "for a frock alone cannot do that".
"True", said the Lady, "I will have the shoes and the bag as well".

i think i might have spoken to the same guy wozski! i had the sensation offered to me when it was released for £20.50/m (on a standard upgrade i might add, no messing about!) which was great. My contract also expires in june but i broke the sensation recently and can't bear to put up with my old htc hero any longer so i decided to go for an early upgrade.

I told the upgrades guy about my previous sensation deal and he just chuckled saying i either am talking about the wrong handset or that it wasn't worth £500 when i got it! I'm not a confrontational person so i just held my tongue and continued to tell him the kind of deals third parties were offering for the htc one. he laughed again and gave me a bs story about how these third parties scam you etc etc and that i'd be very lucky to actually get an htc one for the price stated. I'm a student and £20ish a month is just about my limit. I asked what i could get for that price with the minutes/data i need and was told the galaxy s3 (not ideal but a fairly good handset i suppose) NEARLY NEW for 29per month - a possible 20% as my aunt works in the nhs. I grumbled at the "nearly new" but was assured that it would be in pristine condition, it was just returned by customer within 7 day cooling off period. so i begrudgingly accepted and ordered one in black.

next day i have to wait in all day (and turn down a shift at work) for the phone to arrive as never given a more exact time frame than between 8am and 6pm. It arrives at 5......in blue....with a scuff on the side  i call up vodafone and tell customer service that i've waited in all day and essentially lost £50 in earnings for a damaged phone in the wrong colour. the girl is unsympathetic and kept trying to cut me off, bluntly saying "so you want to return it?" "so you want to return it?" "ok.....so you want to return it"...so rude! To top it off, i get a text after the call saying that the returns bag will be with me within 10 WORKING DAYS?! absolute joke. Anyway, i think i'll just have to suck up the £40odd to get my pac and move to a different network cos vodafone clearly doesn't value my custom anymore

Spoke to Vodaphone today as I'm due an upgrade (I wanted an S4).

Basically all I was offered was what was on their website which is a terrible deal...

    £37 a month
    Unlimited calls
    Unlimited texts
    1gb internet
    Handset cost £69

Compared with a deal I've found for Orange...

    £31 a month
    Unlimited calls
    Unlimited texts
500mb internet (I barely use it)
    Handset free.

I gave him the name of the website (mobilephonesdirect) as I don't think he believed me.

I know where I'll be going next.

Cut out the middle men people and request the PAC code - to be fair lee cant offer these deals - its a retentions thing going on - you will get a call like i did ( within 24 hours of requesting my pac )
For the record my phone came today and its lovely - lets see them honour the "deal"(price) they gave me....
