I was so looking forward to getting the S4 but vodafone it seems are playing super hardball
At the mo ive got a 20% discount on my price plan but if i got for the vodafone £42 per month deal and trade in a old phone ill get it for £37 a month but i cant use my discount on this (talked to 3 people, 2 said no 1 said yes after asking her manager and when i said to her can i have that in writing she went to the highest manager who again said no to using 2 deals)
So the nearest package is £37 per month which is £29.60 after discount not a prob but then its £69.99 for the phone hell no.
I got a call from cancellations stating he could give me the phone for free but the line got cut off and he said he would call back today but nothing, also vodafone have a call logged on the system but no notes for a free phone
Ive been with vodafone god knows how long and also have 2 lines with them
So diffcult0 -
I phoned up recently regarding an upgrade. I found a deal which is over £100 cheaper over the life of the contract (24 months) so I quoted this and asked vodafone to match the deal.
The member of staff proceeded to run through various threats to my position and why I shouldn't go with them such as....
1. The other network has poor coverage (I told them it was orange)
2. They will sell my details and I will receive lots of junk mail
3. The other providers change the price plan/bill amount without notice
Pretty shameful really when I've been with Vodafone for approximately 5 years.
I don't think I am being unreasonable when asking for Vodafone to price match a major competitor.
Has anyone else had the above 1, 2, 3 response when they have tried to upgrade?0 -

Hi css,
On the contrary, however, unless a member explicitly asks for help with an upgrade I'm afraid we're unable to intervene due to the posting guidelines with company representatives hare required to follow. The thing is I actually want to stay with Vodafone, I believe in buying British and all that the orange deal is very good, it's a very frustrating situation
Hi blinko,
If you'd like us to take a closer look at this could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?
All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it will take you to the Contact us form on our website. To make sure it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line?
Once sent you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. So I can make sure I've got it could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?
Kind regards,
Lee

You're welcome css and thanks for letting me know that you've managed to get things sorted out.
I'm afraid the PM function isn't available to company representatives. If you need any help in the future could you email me as per my post from yesterday?
Thanks,
Lee

I've been with Vodafone for 15 years apart from one year. Usually I don't have too much of a problem getting a new contract with phone.
I can upgrade on 26th May. My phone's speakerphone doesn't work and hasn't for the past four weeks but it is our fault and not VF. It can be repaired but for £100 it isn't worth it. I'd like the Samsung S111 and rang to ask if I paid off my contract what could they do for me. Paying off contract now is £65 which I know is part of their t&c's. I was offered 300 mins, ul texts and 250mg Internet. As a "valued" customer I could have the phone free instead of £49.99 with monthly payment of £30. I currently have 300 mins, u/l texts and 1mg for £21 with HTC Desire S.
Prices appear to have come down now for S111 but I'd like some thoughts on the price plan as I really don't want to be spending much more than I am at the moment. Should I try for a far better deal? Thanks.
Edited:
Huh! Looking through carefully at reports here £30 is way too much. Retentions offered this to me btw. My contract doesn't expire until August, just upgrade available from 26th May hence chargeable to get out of contract atm.0 -

It won't have been retentions that offered you that deal. Hand your notice in or request your PAC code when you are within 30 days of your minimum term to speak to them
Chances are they won't be able to beat the deals on the third party websites but you never know0
