No call yet - I think I may have shafted myself because I've negotiated sim only deals the last 2 years and bought a phone outright so they're not longer getting the big bucks off me (though I want a phone and contract deal this time) so not too keen to make me an offer :(

I am currently paying Vodafone £15.50 for 600 mins, texts, 500mb + a £3 addon for an extra £3 (£18.50) As my commitment ends in a few days Ive been onto Vodafone several times today to see if they will offer me a decent sim only deal - was told point blank each time that they no longer offer any sim only retention deals, it's advertised prices only, asked for & received my PAC in the hope that they may budge, nothing... I don't want them to match Virgins £12 deal, just say bring me down to £14/15 total as they now know its Virgin deal I'm going for

According to the Web Team member I dealt with, many of the deals being claimed on here are false. Or put another way, the people claiming them are liars!

That's what I was told! When I quoted a deal mentioned on here, I got the reply, "we don't have a deal offering 'xyz'".

That's because you're speaking to a web team member. They're probably trying to sign you up to a more expensive tariff right? If you speak to retentions they can do the deals here.

A lot of frontline CS staff will say they can't do any better than website offers but retentions can. So he's the liar.

You obviously haven't read my earlier post! Also, are you or have you been with VF? A year and more ago the Twitter/Web Team were the people to deal with to get a good deal, FACT! A year or so later, it would appear that things have changed, at least re SIMo deals, FACT!

This is a VF thread and yet there seem to be folk coming on here spouting anecdotal stuff. Threads like this are supposed to deal in facts!! I really don't think somebody's brother-in-law's mate's second cousin twice removed's mate is to be relied upon!

    Just my opinion!

Whats your problem man, you just said yourself that:

What part of my post doesn't agree with that^

Sure last year you may have got a good deal and i remember last year some people did get good deals online on VF. In fact some people still get great deals from the O2 Chat on O2. But the fact of the matter is that the retentions team will always be able to do the best deals. It really is a matter of who you talk to.

In my case it was Retentions I was speaking to today, offshore call centre took my details & passed me through to UK based cancellations, in all my years with Vodafone (2 separate spells, this time was with them 3 years) I haven't known them to not offer a deal to stay, normally bend over backwards, could understand if I was coming off a super deal looking another but for the past 12 months I was full price

Try ringing them up again. I don't know if they can or cannot do deals on sim only but sometimes it's worth speaking to someone else. I know in my experience that if i call back a week later i get some different deals quoted compared to the original ones.

I got PAC codes on Saturday for both of my contracts. Retentions rang me on Monday but when I picked up the phone, no one spoke and it got disconnected. I haven't received another phone call yet. Both of my contracts have expired today. Is it worth waiting for the call further? I was thinking of waiting till end of the week and use the PAC code if they do not ring me again.
