Called for my PAC code today ( I will be out of contract in 2 weeks)

I am after a Samsung Galaxy S3 on a decent deal.

    They offered me:
    Samsung Galaxy S3 - free
    Minutes- Unlimited
    Texts - unlimited
    Data - 1gb

price- £29 per month including vat

I asked them for 2gb, and to come down to £25 per month. They said they couldnt do this.

I'll shop around some more this afternoon and wait to see if they come back with something better

I called vodafone last week to get a PAC code, was given one with no argument. Received a call today, asked for a galaxy s3 for £21.50 per month as that was the cheapest I found on the net. Was told that was not possible, but I could get the new HTC one, unlimited calls and texts and 2gb of data for £21 per month! That's a 50% discount on that plan. I accepted straight away.

I was told this was because they have a "deal" with HTC and that I have been with vodafone for 10 years. This is the most successful upgrade I have had in those 10 years.

If anyone wants an HTC one, now is the time.

My brother's girlfriend just told me this morning that she had got the S3 for £22pm from Vodafone.

    Hi,

I'm currently on a 12 month contract which is up in May. Currently on 300 mins, unlimited texts and 500mb internet for £36 a month and am using an HTC One X.

I don't mind keeping my phone (although an upgrade would be nice, as always :)) as I'm trying to cut costs.

The minutes I have are just what I need, I don't need any more.
Texts, I could manage with 500. What I need is data and at least 1gb p/m. I get through my 500mb comfortably just through browsing/email/Facebook etc and that's with me constantly keeping an eye on it and switching it off when I'm not actively browsing etc.

However my upgrade offers are not appealing at all:

Samsung GALAXY Ace, Free, 300 minutes, Unltd texts, 250 MB data
    £17 per month

HTC, Windows Phone 8S Blue, Free, Unltd minutes, Unltd texts
1 GB data, £29 per month

    or sim only:

£20.50per month, Unltd minutes, Unltd texts, 1 GB, 365 days

£25 per month, Unltd minutes, Unltd texts, 2 GB, 365 days

I'm seriously considering going to GiffGaff and getting a rolling top-up for £12 p/m for 250 mins, unlimited txts and data or £15 p/m for the same but with 400 minutes.

Do you think that Vodafone would even attempt to match this?

Hi, I was wondering if anybody has had any joy with upgrading an iPad contract? I am in my last 30 days of a two year contract and cancelled it yesterday, but I would get another if it was cheaper! Thanks bec

laurylaury - you need to wait until you are in your last month. Then ring 191 and choose the 'I want to leave' option and request your PAC. Then wait a day or so for a call from retentions. Have a deal in mind ... and see what they can do. You'll get no where with asking about an upgrade.

b3ckys - same for you - you should have rung to request a PAC for the sim. It has a phone no. - no reason why you shouldn't take it elsewhere.

Ok, thanks. Should I ring them for the PAC anyways?

My Vodafone contract ends on 7th May, phoned today to ask about upgrades, specifically to the new HTC One as I loved my HTC Wildfire before it 'aged'. The person I spoke to was so rude, just quoting me the website price and saying that it already included a free phone, what else did I expect?! I said that in that case I would call on 7th April to end my contract they said fine - I wouldn't get anything better as they were in retentions anyway.

We've been with Vodafone for many years, their attitude is appalling. I definitely WILL be phoning to cancel and to get my PAC code, and will be moving to another company, hopefully one where customer service advisors get some decent training.
