Upgraded today to Samsung Galaxy SIII, unlimited talk, unlimited texts and 1GB of data asked for this at no more than £24 per month and free handset, they accepted without argument.
Wished I had asked for £22 or 23 now per month but happy with the deal considering no up front cost and replaced my "old" Galaxy S.Nil Satis Nisi Optimum

I got an iPhone 4 last May from Phones4u on Vodafone. It was only a 12 month contract, no handset fee and £36 a month.
I'd decided once the 12 months were up I'd move to a SIM only deal for another 12 months before upgrading as the iPhone 4 works fine for me and its only 9 months old so no need to upgrade.
Vodafone rang me today at lunch - they asked if I wanted to upgrade or keep my handset and have offered me a 12 month SIM only deal for £15.50 a month this is for 300 mins (I use about 20 mins a month) another 300 Vodafone minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb data (I use about 350 a month) first 3 months unlimited.
I asked him to ring me back after work and he did at the agreed time and I've taken this offer.
I think it seems fine for me as its saving £21 a month and is only a 12 month contract again having only had my phone for 9 months I don't feel the need to upgrade yet.
I'm hoping that's the best deal - I'd not seen anything else better so am happy with that.
Very friendly sales person - he was not pushy in any way.
Upgrade to iPhone 5 would be around £36 with voda and a 24 month contract. So I'm pled with the offer.
Alison, may I suggest that you go back and ask for a better deal? I have just got the following for £10.50pm. A retentions deal.
