Anyone managed to get a good deal on HTC One X +?

I got it for £23 per month, 24 months. 600 mins, UL texts and 500megabombs. Does that seem a good deal to you? I really love the phone

I came to the end of my 24month tariff this week (£15pm with a rubbish handset) and after looking around for a 4s deal, I didn't see vodafone as particularily competitive. Called them and requested the PAC with no thought of haggling, but after being asked what I wanted, I got 600min ul txt and 500 data for £21 with £100 up front. I didn't mind the initial outlay as it was the monthly cost i didn't want to be much higher than the £15 I was already paying.

They did try and turn me to the same package but £29 a month and free phone, but after refusing that, it wasn't too much of a struggle to get what I deemed acceptable.

eckky thump, it's a lot to pay every month. I know the S3 is the wizzy new model, but in your shoes (I have an S2and love it!), I'd hang on to the S2 and get one of these deals.

Put the cost difference away in a savings account, and then put them towards the next new phone that comes out - I know it would be skipping a generation, but it would mean you might be able to have the S4 - or whatever they called it - as soon as it comes out.

I have found the white S3 for just £15.50 a month. It gives 200 mins, unlimited texts and 500mega bombs. Downside is, its a 24 months contract and £115 for the phone. If quidco tracks, I get £40 back.

Without the quidco cashback, it works out to be £20.30 per month, with the quidco cashback, it works out to be £18.63 per month

    what do you think?

Was offered the one x+ for £30 a month on 24 months ult text ult min 1gb of data. I accepted but after more thought I decided that I was going to send the handset back under the 7 days return. I have now ordered a tesco 1 month rolling sim with 500mins 5000 txt and 1gb for £10 a month and £20 top cash back so effectively 2 free months and am going to wait for the nexus 4 to come back in stock. So its bye bye to vodafone and there poor reception

Actually that sounds like a reasonable deal. What you doing with the S2 ? Make sure you get it unlocked - voda should do this free at the end of your contract.

ok so called voda yest and said could not do a deal on iphone tariff. tweeted and got a reply saying the same. they wanted £33 month for iphone 5 32g plus £269 for phone. just called p4u and he could beat that on upgrade but still not good enough.

i have now taken out a new contract with 02 for £31 month, £149 handset and they are giving me £100 cashback to buy out voda :) so pleased with that and glad i called as their deal was better than the 02 one i saw before :)

  • I have been with Vodafone for years and in my recent experience I got a deal without any real haggling. I got the new iPhone 5 when it came out for cheaper than advertised on the site by just giving them a quick call to upgrade. Didn't need to say I was leaving or anything like that - the guy said I can see you have been with us for a long time so when I was telling him I would think it over he gave me the discount. This is how it should be - reward loyalty!
  • Spoke to Vodafone for the thrid time and mentioned that i would like my PAC, he asked what i was after and i mentioned an S3. Straight away he offered without much fuss unlimited Talk, unlimited text, 1GB download, 2 gb wifi & free S3 in Blue for £24 per month! I mentioned that i would rather pay £22 and he had a word with his manager and offered £23 per month. Once i said yes he added first 3 month unlimited download. I must have caught him on a good day.

    Phone arrived this morning.

    Keep haggling!

    woohoo !!

Different to this time last year then. Voda lost me to o2 because they wouldn't offer me any deal at all on an S2.
