Vodafone Retention Deals

I got an iPhone 4 last May from Phones4u on Vodafone. It was only a 12 month contract, no handset fee and £36 a month.
I'd decided once the 12 months were up I'd move to a SIM only deal for another 12 months before upgrading as the iPhone 4 works fine for me and its only 9 months old so no need to upgrade.
Vodafone rang me today at lunch - they asked if I wanted to upgrade or keep my handset and have offered me a 12 month SIM only deal for £15.50 a month this is for 300 mins (I use about 20 mins a month) another 300 Vodafone minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb data (I use about 350 a month) first 3 months unlimited.
I asked him to ring me back after work and he did at the agreed time and I've taken this offer.
I think it seems fine for me as its saving £21 a month and is only a 12 month contract again having only had my phone for 9 months I don't feel the need to upgrade yet.
I'm hoping that's the best deal - I'd not seen anything else better so am happy with that.
Very friendly sales person - he was not pushy in any way.
Upgrade to iPhone 5 would be around £36 with voda and a 24 month contract. So I'm pled with the offer.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

Ouch - you could have got a sim only deal from three that would have met your needs for £6.90 a month.....0 -
- Never trust a vodafone salesman ! always record telephone conversations and video any visits to the shops. This makes sure you get what they tell you they will get.If a man does not keep pace with his companions, then perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away. thoreau0

I know but I can't get three reception at my house so no good for me, and can't get a decent signal at work in our office with any other company - I had to go outside when I was with Orange, Vodafone works fine.
Its not much better with giff gaff either as I'd considered them.
I'll have a quick browse around again but don't think I'll find a Vodafone deal cheaper - I've got 7 days where I can cancel if needed.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

I might ring them see if they can do a better deal, he said you can cancel in 7 days, signal wise I need to stay with Vodafone.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

They are offering better deals than this on their website (600 mins instead of 300). Tell them to try harder.
Tell them what YOU need, not what they want to sell you and haggle on the price (don't take their first offer).
The only signal you can get is with vodaphone, really? Where do you live, the outer Hebrides?0 -
Ps check out talkmobile - they use the vodaphone network and offer 300 mins 1000 txts and 500mb for £8 a month on a 6 month contract0

Thanks ill check those out. I only use about 20 mins a month so have no need for 600! Looking at what they offered its 600 as they added 300 voda to voda minutes, I'll never use them.
And no I don't live in a remote area! I live in the West Midlands/Worcestershire borders but whilst I can get a full signal at home with everyone other than three Vodafone is the only one that gets a strong signal in the office at work, others are so patchy.
I'll have another chat with them see if I can get them down to £10.50 a month.
We had talk mobile on one of the works phones and it didn't seem as good but will check.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

Their first offer to me was 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb Internet at £10:25pm which was the same price as last year but with less minutes as I had 600. I asked for my PAC.
Two days later I had a call from them. Final deal was 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 1.5gb data for £10:25pm. They also sent me a Sure Signal for free.0
