Yes - they call you a minimum 25 times, each time with a more tempting offer. If that doesn't work, they then visit your house at various inconvenient times during the early hours of the morning - that's when things get nasty.

Where is the T-Mobile Nexus deal?
It is not so much a t mobile deal but at the moment you can get there full monty plan for 12 months sim only on there web site for £21= £252 over the year with £50 quidco that's £202 a sim free nexus from google is £279 for the 16g which over the year works out at £40.08. I know it does not suit everyone to buy the handset outright. But it is better than i can imagine vodafone offering with a comparable handset and tariff. There is also the option of vrigin sim only with 1200mins ult txt and ult internet for £17 bringing the cost down to £40.25 without the risk of quidco, or £37.88 with quidco, and they work on the EE network too. They have tariffs with less mins if your not a big talker aswell

Phoned yesterday for my PAC. Retentions called me back today and offered the following for £24 per month.

    24 month contract
    Free Galaxy S3
    Unlimited minutes
    Unlimited texts
1gb data (unlimited for first 3 months)
    2gb BT Openzone Wi-Fi

I was going to go down the route of a Nexus 4 and Giffgaff sim but, to me, this is a good deal as I couldn't find a better deal anywhere else. I wasn't too keen going for 24 months again but have had 24 month contracts twice previously and the time to upgrade again soon comes around. They did add that taking out a contract before end January 2013 they had a deal where you could upgrade to 4G when available. You pay 30% of the remaining contract and Vodafone pay 70% then you can switch to a 4G tariff. Seems a fair deal if you're desperate to try 4G but it won't be in my area until about this time next year anyway.
  • cancelled my oh £15 blackberry sim 12 month on thursday. retentions foned me on friday offering 50% off any £21 a month contract fone.asked her to call me back in an hour so that i could research the fones on the website.was goin for lumia 800 but chanced it to see if she could get me iphone 4s first.she said she would ask her manager which i thaught was gonna be a strait no but she came back with a yes.
HAPPY DAYS. i got iphone 4s free.unlimited calls n txts 2g data all £21 a month with 50% discount . best retentions deal iv heard.
  • I just got a free iphone 4s out of them, with unlimited calls and texts and 2Gb, for £21 a month for 24 months.

This was after cancelling an upgrade that they messed up, and finding a deal online for £26 a month, and getting my PAC code from them. The next day the retention team phoned me. I said I'd already ordered from someone else, so they offered "the maximum we can do" which was to cut 50% off one of their deals (the above is usually £42 pm). So I've taken it and cancelled the other order.

How many times do retentions call?

    Just been offered:

    iPhone 5 32GB
    24 months
    £49 for handset
    £37 monthly

unlimited calls + texts plus 1GB of data.

Trying to judge if this is a good deal and whether or not retentions will continue to offer better if I hold out. Any ideas?
You should be able to get that for £27 and a free or almost free handset - they are authorised to cut their normal price in half.

Next month I shall be phoning to request my PAC as seen some good deals elsewhere and will wait and see what retentions offer me. Just one question- what telephone number shows up when retentions phone you. Just in the past I've had some calls claiming to be from vodafone that weren't and just wanted to make sure was legit
The Vodafone retention numbers I've been called from are 0808 numbers:
    0808 000 0133
    and
    0808 002 4636
