It's with Vodafone, I logged into my account went to upgrades selected 'keep my price plan' then selected the note 2... I couldn't believe it when it said I could have the phone for free! I was half expecting an email from them telling me there had been a mistake, but no two days later the phone turned up!
This was two months before the end of my contract
I've since checked my account and it confirms I am able to upgrade this number on the 20th October 2013
That's interesting. I was about to do the same as my contract expires 31/12/2012. Then I remembered that my line is discounted to £26 from £36 ( £36 is shown in my vodafone account online)
If I did this I wonder if my discount would disappear (500 mins, 1gb internet, 100 texts)0 -
Just got the following from them
Nokia Lumia 800 (free)
600 mins
ultd texts
500MB data
£15 per month
I know there's a new one out but it's on a pricier contract and I'm pretty happy with that one.Space for rent, apply within - Free trial on Thanks button though0 -
My VF contract has expired so in a position to move on if I need to:
VF have offered me today 2 deals on the Samsung Galaxy S2:
600 mins, unltd texts, 500mb data, 300 mins to 08 for £21.50pm
OR
Unltd mins & texts, 1gb data for £25.50
Both deals £20 one off handset cost & 24 month contract.
Are these deals worth doing? I see T mobile are doing £26 pm for their Full Monty deal on this phone (less Quidco £60). Or I could go SIM only and buy the handset but not sure I would save much on the 24mth contracts above. I wouldn't be tied in to VF though.
Any thoughts on my best option (would even consider the S3 but don't want to go up £26 pcm)?0 -

Upgraded with VF:
Galaxy note 2 - free (said next bill will show £69 charge but they credit my account for this)
Unlimited calls, unlimited texts, 2 GB data and 100 international texts
£37/month
Is this good??
I have always pay 6 month bills in advance, so would hope they have given me a good deal. My voda account online shows the monthly charge for this contract is £42 and additional £5 for text0 -
Were these from retentions? I don't think they're very good, I would have thought you'd be able to get the phone free and the better tariff for £21.50/month.
These were from Upgrades (I believe). I will push a bit more and see if they will give me a bit more for my money. If I am tied in for another 24 months I want the deal to be worth it. If not I would be as well to move elsewhere.0 -

I got offered the same deal however they want £40.83 for then handset... So I got the sales team to phone me so I could discuss that you were offered a free handset.
They offered me the same deal and wanted £270 for the handset, I said I can do better online and the sales advisor said thats because its 3rd party. I said no its directly with yourselves on your website.
Oh well I can't do that for you this is what the computer offers. Its actually £80 more for the handset then a new customer on the same tariffOfficial DFW Nerd number 227
Proud to be dealing with my debts!!!!0 -

If it's a 12 month contract it's a cracking deal!0 -
You'll get a much better deal from retentions, not upgrades, once you request a PAC.
I spoke to Retentions this afternoon and the deal they offered was worse than the one yesterday so not impressed. The guy I spoke to wasn't really for listening and was very vague when I asked if I could cancel my contract over the phone. He had to ask his manager and eventually said I could.
I think I will get my PAC code and move to Giffgaff and buy my own PAYG handset for more flexibility. I was reasonably happy to stay with VF but the "loyalty" package isn't great and I would be tied in for another 2 years.0
