It's been over a week since I requested my PAC and gave 30 days notice. Should retentions have contacted me by now?0

I would have thought they would have called by now, but you don't know how busy they are.
If they don't call, it's their loss, another network will get your money.0 -

Vodafone give you your PAC straight away. Do it now and give it a week. Your phone won't stop ringing, they really don't want to lose you. Having spent £43 a month on a blackberry I was very glad to get:
Free Samsung Galaxy Ace
600 mins
Unlimited text messages
100 picture messages
1.5gb data
For £13 a month / 24mthsThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
My Vodafone contract runs out 23/9/12. I have managed to get a PAC code out of them, after an awful lot of effort!
I am looking for a handset that I can tether with my iPad, which my Blackberry Bold 9700 will not do.
They have offered a Galaxy Ace Plus with 300 mins, unlimited texts and 250MB data for £10.50 per month. Unfortunately I was on holiday when they made the offer, so they said they would call back this week, but didn't. I was happy with the offer so I called back today to take them up on it, but they told me they no longer had this handset in stock. I was then offered a Galaxy Ace for the same money, but I pointed out it was the predecessor to the Plus, therefore a lesser model. Salesman was not prepared to offer more discount.
I asked if there was an alternative handset, and he suggested the HTC Desire C, with the same tariff. I haven't done any research on this phone, so I don't know how it compares to the Samsung, or whether I can tether it to my iPad so I can use it whilst I am out and about.
Told the salesman I would think about it and could he please make a note on my record of what he had offered so that I can research and get back to them. He said that not every advisor would be able to offer me the discount that he could, so I said that he was just after the sale and I wasn't interested in heavy sell, thanks very much. Said I'd take my chances if and when I call back!
I guess what I'm asking is, is this a good deal, and is the HTC going to do what I want it to do in terms of linking with my iPad, and be at least as good as my current Blackberry. Do you have any advice about how I could reduce the cost any further - pushing my luck I know!
Many thanks for your help!0 -
How much per month?0

My upgrade date is 25/9/12. I currently pay £25 a month for 500 mins, unlimited texts, 1gb data and I had a blackberry with the package... I am hoping to get the Samsung s3 this time but don't really want to increase my monthly fee. What do you think my chances are ? I really only text, never come anywhere near my mins or data allowance0

You need to find out exactly how many minutes and how much data you've been using over the last 12 months or so otherwise you might end up paying for a contract with more minutes and data than you need.
As an example, Galaxy SIII can be had for £21 per month over 24 months with 100 minutes, unlimited texts and 750MB data.0
