Vodafone Retention Deals

..just renewed my contract for 2 years. Got a free Samsung S2 with:
3000 mins
Free Vodafone to Vodafone Calls
Unlimited texts
1 GB of Internet
and £15 credit on bill (haggled as they couldn't throw in a free case)
£26 per month
Didn't have to haggle much, no PAC code threats......0 -
What number do they use to phone for the retention deal?0
-
My contract ends in a couple of months and I currently pay £11.50 for 600mins, unlimited texts and 500mb data.
Have Vodafone offered anything to compete with Virgin's rolling contract, 1200mins, unlimited texts and 1gb of data? So far, it looks like an easy decision.0 -
My contract runs out at the end of the year or thereabouts but I can upgrade from next month as I'm in the last 75 days of my contract. I am still undecided whether to move or not as some other good deals out there. I know this may seem a fairly stupid/obvious question- I just wondered when people threaten to leave/request PAC code they do it when their contract has fully expired or when they are in the last 75 days period?0

They can issue you a PAC now but will then charge you early termination if you port your number.
It's better to wait until you're in the last 30 days of your minimum term, you've got more negotiating power then. At 75 days, they have the power.0 -

That's what I thought- just a bit impatient- not that I'm unappy with my current phone so will be happy to wait0 -

I've just had an extremely frustrating phone call with Vodafone.
Although my contract is up on 5th October I still have to formally end my contract via the website - the giy was unable to give me an email address to use. Needless to say, when I try the "contact" link it is consistently broken therefore I cannot notify via the website. I was given my PAC code over the phone but offerred nothing in the way of decent upgrade other than what is on website, despite being a customer for over 10 years.
Very disappointed with the service provided. What I wanted to check was whether I can just walk to nearest Vodafone shop and cancel contract there in person.
You really would think in this day reliable customers would be valued and not treated as a hinderence.
I have the guy's name etc. whom I was speaking with.0 -
Any idea if you can get a retention tariff, get a free phone (i.e. samsung), sell it then buy an iphone 5 and put the sim in?0

Not in the slightest, they want customers that generate income, it doesn't matter how long you have been with a company these days. They want someone that goes over the allowance each month and generates additional charges. Do that and you will get offered a better retention deal as opposed to someone paying 20 a month for 10 years but never goes over plan.0 -
I have just accepted:
iPhone 4S 16gb free
24 months
£26 a month
unlimited calls and texts, 2gb data.
Pretty happy with that!0
