Is anyone managing to get a decent offer on 12 month deals?

Don't mind paying a small amount for the phone but have been informed that they cannot discount 12 month deals

I am getting frustrated with staff on the phones refusing to listen to what you require and instead quoting generalisations and saying how amazing a deal it is.
Its not an amazing deal to offer me £10 worth of goods I don't need!
If my current usage is well below my current contract levels then doubling it will not provide me with anything better for my needs!. Grrr
What phone are you after and how much minutes and data do you need?

I'd swap, but have zero mobile coverage on ANY network here, so really need Vodafone for the Sure Signal capability, and no-one else seems to offer the same ..... Grrrr.
Three offer the same thing, they call it home signal. You'd need their One Plan at £25 per month on a 1 month sim only if you need 900 minutes, otherwise you can have 600 minutes for £15.90 per month.

Check how much minutes you've been using over the last 12 months, you probably aren't getting close to using 900 minutes if they aren't looking to discount it.

for the past 2 years i have found its cheaper to change providers or to goto a 3rd party like pfu as the retentions are worthless.

voda direct wanted 130 for a one x however i went to pfu and got the phone free and £50 cash as i brought phone from them the previous year i also just wanted 12 month contract

Any of the decent htc ones would do but the HTC One S looks the best to me.
I use < 200mb of data, 1-200 minutes and 10s of texts so not very high usage at all.

Best I've seen on a 12 month contract with a free One S will cost you £36 a month plus £100 cashback on Vodafone (with 300 minutes, 5000 texts and 500MB data) which is roughly £27 per month with the cashback included.

If you're willing to stretch to an 18 month contract, it can be had for £26 per month with 300 minutes, 500 texts and 250Mb internet.

Thanks. I had seen a similar deal with dialaphone but they seem to have removed that now. 18 month unfortunately is too long for me to commit to at the moment.

....and they're not discounting SIM only deals, either. I'm on a 12 months 900 mins deal at £20.50, which was a really good deal when I signed up (included Quidco at about £125), but is now at the end of contract.

They have offered me the same for £20, still with a 12 month tie in, even though I quoted Virgin at £12/month for 1200 mins, unlimited texts, 1Gb of data and a 30 day deal.

I'm on the same 900min plan with cashback taking it to a tenner a month equivalent. If they don't offer that or better as a retention deal, I will go to PAYG and then buy a new deal with cashback and port the number as Voda don't require the number to leave the network. Some of the cashback deals on SIM only are very good and I think they would struggle to match that directly.

That phones4u deal is very good for a 12 month contract, only £332 over the 12 months with the cashback which is less than you can buy a One S for on it's own.

    Agreed its a great deal.
Had hoped that vodafone would be able to get somewhere close to save me the hassle of porting number and changing companies.
