With 4G just around the corner, we should all be pushing for 12month contracts. My contract is approaching end of year, I am keen to avoid being tied to a new phone for 2 years that cant make use of 4G. Hopefully vodafone have a good deal to hold customers from jumping to Orange/TMobile.*************************

When I first started getting contract phones about 8 years ago, 12 months was the norm...0 -
I have a 24 month contract now expired (31/8/12) which was for an iPhone 4 600mins, unltd Texts and 1gb internet.
I have called Voda who have offered me a 24 month contract with an iPhone 4s 32gb unltd mins unltd texts and 1gb data for £37 per month. I have found a comparable offer on mobile.co.uk the difference is that Voda want to charge me £169.99 for the phone but mobile is charging £39.99. I can't port my number from vodafone to vodafone so what would the wise heads suggest?
I have just spent 3/4hr on the virtual chat forum of the vodafone website. I started talking to a chap called Dave and eventually ended up with Elizabeth. After much debate (of a very friendly smiling nature) it culminated in me asking her how 3rd party companies can provide a phone for £39.99 when vodafone want to charge £169.99. I gave her the web address and she came back with the following deal:
iPhone 4s 32GB Black for FREE
Unlimited mins
Unlimited texts
1GB data (unlimited for the first three months)
24 month contract (I'm wasn't ever worried about that)
£37.00 per month so no change but you can't have everything...
Suffice to say I am very happy especially as I can Also sell my old phone for just over £100!!
Thank you MSE for making me do battle..0 -
just signed up to the following from retentions
HTC One x free
600 mins
unlimited texts
500mb (I use wifi mostly anyway)
24 months at £21
bit more than my last contract but it is a better handset0 -
I am paying £5 a month from T-mobile (SIM only) for a better package (unlimited internet), so you are paying about £16 a month for the phone, x 24 = £384.
Not a bad deal, but pretty much the price of a Galaxy S3 new, which is a superior phone (removable battery, SD card, not getting hot etc)0 -
Spoke to retentions this afternoon and secured the following, also have confirmed in writing.
SIMO 12 Months
600 Minutes
Unlimited Texts
500MB Data
1000 Minutes to Landlines
300 Minutes to 0845/0870/0800 Numbers
£5.25 per month..

I would call back in 48 hours and confirm this deal, as from my understanding, and I know all the deals, the landline and non geo portion is £7.50 alone, with the standard £20.50 for the 600min simo and a max 50% discount on it, even if they discount the landlines and non geo, it would require another £5 discount on the LR.
So just make double sure0 -

Already have in writing but will also call to double check... Cracking offer!! Also the SIMO is £15.50 per month not £20.50 as you say, it shows this on My Account when I log in thru the Vodafone website...
Monthly cost
£15.50(Inc. VAT)
Your Plan comes with 600 minutes, unlimited texts, 500MB mobile internet, 750MB Wi-Fi and BlackBerry email0 -
Had an offer last night for:-
Sony Xperia T - £99
£36 p/m for 300 minutes, unlt text and 500mb data
on 12 months, this was from the web team for an upgrade rather than retention, should i wait until my contract is up and get a better offer?0 -
Wait until you're in your last 30 days, request your PAC and try again but be warned that no one really does 12 month contracts any more so you might struggle to get a better offer.0
