You can get it from T-Mobile for £36 a month (600 minutes, unlimited texts, 750MB internet, 18 month contract) with £135 up front for the phone or you can get it from Vodafone free for £37.58 per month including cashback with 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB internet.

Have you considered buying the SIII outright and going sim only? Virgin Mobile do 1200 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB internet for £12 per month.

I may have to bite the bullet and go for a 24 month deal. I haven't the pennies at the moment to buy the phone outright at moment but I can certainly see the benefits of doing so (especially on that virgin deal of £12 a month)

I have looked at the Samsung SIII with 600 mins, unlimited texts, 1GB internet at £28.50 a month. This was with Orange via phones 4 u.

Thanks for your help btw its appreciated :)
  • I just got the S3 with 300 mins / unlimited texts / 500 MB for £23/month and free phone, but it *is* cashback by redemption (£31 excluding cashback). Better than most redemption deals though as you only have to email your bills periodically, don't have the hassle of posting a letter.

  • I signed a Vodafone 24 month contract 3 years ago (pretty basic - handset, minutes and texts). When the contract came to an end I was expecting a call offering me a new handset and some extra minutes or something, but nothing came.

At the end of last week I requested my PAC and gave 30 days notice as I could do with a phone with internet access and the stuff that Vodafone are offering in-store isn't that amazing.

To be honest I was hoping that retentions would call and we could sort something out - by and large I've been happy with the service. But again I've not had a call from them.

Do they just not want my custom anymore? Or does it take more than a couple of days for them to get in touch?

Should I call them? If so, who do I need to speak to and what should my opening gambit be?

I'm quite liking the look of the galaxy S2 - I know the S3 is the new kid on the block but the S2 looks ample for my needs and I'm hoping can be gotten cheaply.

Any advice (esp from Heidi or any of the other official reps) gratefully received!

It might take them more than a couple of days. Don't ring them, if they want to keep your custom they'll ring.

How many minutes and how much data do you need? How much would you be willing to spend each month?

Have a look at the HTC One S, it's perfomance (in benchmarks) compares well with the Galaxy S3 and it's cheaper.
  • Just been offered Galaxy S2 for £13 a month

    300 Minutes
    Unlimited text
    500mb Internet
    24 month contract

    :)

At the moment I'm paying £15.50 a month. I could manage a pound or two more per month but that would be the limit to my budget.

I could easily go for the deal Harris 101 above got if the minutes were halved (150) and the data doubled. I have 300 minutes at present and struggle to get through them.

I'd be fine with signing a longer term contract - like I say, I'm happy with Vodafone so far (before I had my personal phone with them I had a business one in the company's name for 8 years).

Is anyone managing to get a decent offer on 12 month deals?

Don't mind paying a small amount for the phone but have been informed that they cannot discount 12 month deals

I am getting frustrated with staff on the phones refusing to listen to what you require and instead quoting generalisations and saying how amazing a deal it is.
Its not an amazing deal to offer me £10 worth of goods I don't need!
If my current usage is well below my current contract levels then doubling it will not provide me with anything better for my needs!. Grrr

Galaxy S2 can be had for £18.24 with 750Mb data which should be enough on T-Mobile unless you do alot of streaming and downloading.

The One S can be had for £19.54 on the same 100 minute, unlimited texts, 750Mb data as the S2 on T-Mobile.

  • ....and they're not discounting SIM only deals, either. I'm on a 12 months 900 mins deal at £20.50, which was a really good deal when I signed up (included Quidco at about £125), but is now at the end of contract.

They have offered me the same for £20, still with a 12 month tie in, even though I quoted Virgin at £12/month for 1200 mins, unlimited texts, 1Gb of data and a 30 day deal.

I'd swap, but have zero mobile coverage on ANY network here, so really need Vodafone for the Sure Signal capability, and no-one else seems to offer the same ..... Grrrr.
